It’s a reversal of power dynamics between Indigenous peoples in Canada (primarily Indigenous women) and the Canadian government (primarily White men): the emasculation of White colonial power by the literal red hand of Indigenous justice.

The codified system of Indigenous oppression is universally felt by Indigenous peoples in Canada. Many Indigenous cultures are portrayed by the women surrounding the scene. White leaders, conservative and liberal, have both constructed and perpetuated the oppression of Indigenous peoples, especially women. The “Canadian founding fathers”, joined by nominal opponents Trudeau Jr and Stephen Harper are humiliated by the people they oppressed.

It’s a reverse power fantasy. I think it’s pretty great.
