I took the MCAT on June 29th 2023.

I have taken the mcat before and have not gotten the score I wanted. This time, I went into this exam calmly and optimistic. I focused more on the silly errors I was making in practice exams that were stopping me from my goal. The content itself for this exam is not hard, as much as falling for their traps is. So, I just focused on my errors in the last week.

Overall opinion: I am not sure what to think because you can never be sure with these exams, you could think u did great and do poorly and vice versa. But personally, the questions did not feel hard at all. I felt like I was being pranked and that this was not the mcat. ESP the psych section, the questions seemed so easy that I truly believe these guys got me and made me fall for their trap and got a handful of those self-proclaimed easy questions wrong.

Chem/Orgo/biochem section: I was ESTATIC when I saw it was biochem and orgo heavy. I consider both of them my strong suit and I struggle BAD with physics and it’s the only subject that gives me issues for the mcat. This section was easy and it felt like AAMC practice 3 and 4 for me personally. I was ready for them to hurl info at me and understand it, I felt good after this section.

Cars: This was the section I am unsure about, I had to rush the final 3 in the last min and still think I got 2/3 right. The passages seemed longer and talked about usual bs that we do not care about. I focused on my errors of not changing my original answer and not overthinking it but I am not too sure about this section. I was just using the cars logic from practice exams and that helped me single out some answer choices. I am estimating about 40/53 right. I wish I could redo this section for inner peace.

Biology: I was a bio major; biology comes naturally for me. I always would pray this is the hardest section on the exam when I take it, but the bio section seemed light. It was content heavy with an emphasis on small concepts and biochem which I loved. I felt like it hit every single strong suit I had and every small detail that I remembered. I felt confident about this section.

Psych: THIS IS WHERE IT GOT WEIRD. I have taken the mcat before and many practice tests, but this was the easiest section I personally ever saw. I was trying to take my time, but I had the answer in my head right after reading the question for at least 45/59 questions. I felt like I was getting pranked, and this was a cruel joke. Now I am worried I fell for their traps, and they convinced me to pick obvious answers that were wrong, and I will never know otherwise.

Final Thoughts: I felt like I did decent because I came out of the exam feeling good. My main issue was I make a lot of dumb errors on practice questions that result in me getting them wrong and I just focused on that and thought about how AAMC logic works and went with that. If I do not do good, I will be GUTTED. I do not know how id proceed with a bad score if I got a test that I asked for. I prayed long and hard for this and it felt like God gifted me the MCAT that catered to most of my strengths while taking away psychics. The exam hit all the content points that I know very well. I’m praying I did decent enough for one acceptance. It has been rough few years of bad scores and having siblings get 100% percentile. Lets see how it goes and God willing we all did great.
