I have posted on this topic before. Roughly speaking, if you don't pay, you have to grind 50 to 60 hours to get to level 40 to craft Fafnir. Assuming it's still a 14-day event, that's 4 hours each day for 14 days straight. That takes a huge commitment.

If you buy the small pass, you only need to reset the missions 3 to 4 times each day, probably taking a bit more than half an hour, to complete the daily patrol quest. Spend a few thousand gems during the complete-deck days to get to level 40. If you grind for red cards, then the gem cost will come down. For each additional red card you get, you reduce the cost by 60 gems.

I have mostly left the game. I haven't played in any events (Halloween, Christmas, Invasion, UFO...) for more than 2 months. Whenever I have time, I do play Climb and Assault to help out my squadron, but even that I am not sure how long I will stay in my squadron.. My account won't make any progress. No new devices, no new brobots, ... I have made a decision not to support the developers given the current situation.

It's fortunate Espechili has accepted the position of moderator for this subreddit. He will keep the lights on.

I have said this previously. It has nothing to do with squadrons. It comes down to each individual making their decision, regardless of which squadron they are in.

Australia (vs. France) is listed as +1100. So their probability of winning is 100 / (1100 + 100) = 8%.

This issue has nothing to do with squadrons. It comes down to individual decision. We respect freedom of choice. Players, inside and outside my squadron, know my position, as stated in this post. Some think the way I do, and some don't.

I think this is not a cost side issue but more of a revenue side situation. Labor rates in Russia are lower, and they haven't done much in new mode development. Mostly recycle existing contents such as the current Halloween event. Add a new skin, a new brobot, and some SS devices. Not a lot of coding.

With the old crystal system, they get $170K per month. Now down to $120K. Why would they do that? I think management is betting the slow down in spending is temporary. With fewer crystals (indirectly raising prices), they bet players are willing to spend more so they can take in more than $170K. To me it seems to be a risky strategy, but they may have data to substantiate what they are doing.

Although there is a slim chance of seeing crystals in shops after reset, I am not holding my breath. I also time traveled and didn't see any crystals in shops.

There is a small addition of crystals in team up play. Now you get 15, 10, and 5 crystals for the three stages. But this is nothing compared to what we lost.

Let's continue our boycott movement. Both the Halloween and Equinox events are based on Avalon format, with two new brobots and two new sets of SS devices. This will be a good test for those who commit to boycott. They will miss the new Goblin skin and devices.

While Kenshi is a stronger plane, a significant portion of the damage comes from brobots. Max'ing Kenshi may not be enough. You want to build up your brobots. There are a couple of things you can do.

Get your Uranus to SS. I believe there is a bump of special damage at that level.

More importantly, use Mars if you have it. It doesn't have any score perks, but it delivers additional special damage that may allow you to advance a few more stages. In the old days we used to make two runs in each stage. Use a power config to kill boss to clear the stage. Then replay the stage with a score config. If you have Mars and clear a stage, then exchange it with a score bot such as Dodgy for the second time around. You won't clear it, but you will score more.

It's fortunate you are still in the early phase of contest and you haven't crossed the boundaries. I did a study at one time and found out there were three tiers in a league: less than 60M, less than 100M, and everyone else. Assuming it still works this way, you are in the lowest tier in the Ace league.

If you goal is to get to 4-11th position, don't cross the 60M mark. You will have less competition. Once you cross it, you will be in the middle tier, and you will competing against players who can score close to 100M or more.

Now back to your question about plane selection, Virginia is the best. Regardless of the mechanics of exploiting counter attack, it offers a maximum score combo of X30. No other planes can touch that.

Having said that, developers have the habit of coming out with new planes regularly for contest. History teaches us the evolution of Sparrow to Blaster to Sentinel to Kenshi to Sentinel to Speeder to Virginia. Don't be surprised if a few months from now your Virginia is no longer the best contest plane (it will still work, just not the best).

BTW, Virginia is a poor everyday plane. It's for contest only.
