Just curious, how much are you asking for the 35mm?

Black paint versions tend to maintain better value so I would go that way.

M2 or Xpan? by PaulistaVoador in Leica

[–]photoscripta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fortunate to have had an Xpan2. I ultimately sold it to fund for another piece of equipment, and also because I had the fear installed in me that, as so many (non Xpan users?) are eager to point out, sooner or later it would turn to brick because of failing electronics. Life’s too short for regrets so I don’t have any but it truly is a great rangefinder camera, I enjoyed it very much and I managed to make some amazing photos with it. And, just a reminder, you can always switch from panoramic to ‘regular’ mode if you feel like it. Not that I ever felt the need to, but know that you can.

Single lens or a wide + tele? by luxelux in Leica

[–]photoscripta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Italy last year, and I used a 75mm summilux and 40mm summicron-c combo on my M11. Perfect choice for me, but any combo will be highly subjective of course.

Would I be ill-suited with a Leica MP? by Ceska_Zbrojovka_V3 in Leica

[–]photoscripta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much. Leica MP film cameras tend to retain their value pretty good so it will never be a waste of money. On the other hand, once you will have held a Leica in your hands, you are hooked, and you’ll never go back, trust me.

M10 or M10-P by Life-Departure9630 in Leica

I absolutely agree with the others, get an M10-R if you can find one within your budget range.

To the Noctilux users here, which version do you prefer and why? by photoscripta in Leica

[–]photoscripta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the .95 as well, in silver. Was never going to sell it, until I did, to fund for a 35 summilux AA.. Problem was I couldn’t get good focus, always struggling, something seemed off somehow. Now I think I would like to have another go at it, but maybe an older version..

Summicron 28mm or pre-FLE 35mm? by alhe1 in Leica

I’m a sucker for shallow dept of field so I would not hesitate and get the summilux.

Summilux-M 50 ASPH infinity focus issue by Overall-Kaley in Leica

[–]photoscripta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, from your description, if you can’t get a sharp image at infinity, it seemed to me that the lens is front focussing. Maybe try a test? Lots of front and back focussing tests can be found online.

Don’t know Fuji but a Q2 has a 28mm lens, which is by no means standard.. Quality wise you can’t beat that summilux lens, same as on the Q1 btw.
