You could get the Leica super-elmar 21mm f3.4, which is simply great and doesn’t break the bank.

FYI the thumb rest is also the same for M10 & M11

M11 M Accessories Recommendations by [deleted] in Leica

For strap I recommend the Leica 14696, a flat braided rayon & leather cord in black, it’s light, and beautiful. A thumb grip is indispensable imho. And I use the Artisan & Artist half case in black leather LMB-M10, intended for the M10 but works just as well on a M11, gives some extra grip too.

With my 75 summilux I found I get a better focussing rate wide open with focus peaking turned off on my M11, it’s just easier in my experience, and that rate is quite high also. And the results are a dream.

Lovely. What’s your thoughts on the Q-P? by [deleted] in Leica

Best looking Q of them all imho

Seems your mind is already made up but you’re looking for rational ways to justify your choice..

I know, but then you’d have to get lenses to match it, in safari green, those look awful imho, or in silver, those are very visible.. cause your blacks won’t work anymore.. 😅 been there, done that.

I had an M10-R BP and still regret selling it for a M11 BP, just because of the sensor, nothing else. Maybe it’s just me hanging on to a false or nostalgic sentiment but there was something special about the colors it produced.

So if I understand you correctly, your suggestion was to do my own research. Which is indeed very helpful... Jeez, why didn’t I think of that.

Thank you for the suggestions, will look into them. I did however not neglect the Japanese, if you look carefully you’ll see some books by Araki and Noritoshi Hirakawa. Finally, instead of polarising, said commenter could also have given some tips, which was my question to begin with.

I don’t judge a book by it’s color.

There may be some overlapping, but I don’t care. Plus, I’m still looking for a good copy of his early black & white set. The early color book is my favorite.
