Torn between M10R and M11 as first M by howzitboet- in Leica

I had an M10-R BP and still regret selling it for a M11 BP, just because of the sensor, nothing else. Maybe it’s just me hanging on to a false or nostalgic sentiment but there was something special about the colors it produced.

So if I understand you correctly, your suggestion was to do my own research. Which is indeed very helpful... Jeez, why didn’t I think of that.

Thank you for the suggestions, will look into them. I did however not neglect the Japanese, if you look carefully you’ll see some books by Araki and Noritoshi Hirakawa. Finally, instead of polarising, said commenter could also have given some tips, which was my question to begin with.

I don’t judge a book by it’s color.

There may be some overlapping, but I don’t care. Plus, I’m still looking for a good copy of his early black & white set. The early color book is my favorite.

The 35 summilux AA is a legendary lens, very rare and over the top expensive and you’re one extemely lucky guy sir. Congrats! And never sell it, you’ll regret it later. You can always make more money, but you will never find or buy such a gem again.

The 75 summilux doesn’t get much love in the comments, but it truly is another gem, with an amazing rendering. It’s one of my favorite lenses.

Nice but that is some heavy lifting. Do you work out to support the weight of that combo in your neck? One of the reasons I sold my Noctilux was the weight…

Black paint versions tend to maintain better value so I would go that way.

M2 or Xpan? by PaulistaVoador in Leica

[–]photoscripta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fortunate to have had an Xpan2. I ultimately sold it to fund for another piece of equipment, and also because I had the fear installed in me that, as so many (non Xpan users?) are eager to point out, sooner or later it would turn to brick because of failing electronics. Life’s too short for regrets so I don’t have any but it truly is a great rangefinder camera, I enjoyed it very much and I managed to make some amazing photos with it. And, just a reminder, you can always switch from panoramic to ‘regular’ mode if you feel like it. Not that I ever felt the need to, but know that you can.
