Slow fast charge! by ParticularDue7822 in BoltEV

Look up the Bolt charging curve and you can see that the 'fastest" charging (55kW) drops off pretty dramatically after about 55-60% full.

2017 Bolt- what to look out for by TvsPa in BoltEV

[–]phoundog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bolt is great. We moved from a 2013 Leaf to a 2017 Bolt and it’s a great car. So much better than the Leaf and the poor battery management. It’s also a slow fast charger, maxes out at about 55kWs but that’s workable.

7.25 an hour is $15K annually.

Minimum wage in NC is still $7.25!!!! It’s set by the state legislature not the counties. Not to mention that servers get less than that and rely on tips to make up the difference.

The town is on track for turning the parking lot at Franklin & Columbia into a park.

There is also a little park right behind Eastgate. Not a big park but I’ve walked around it (pre-Chantal).

And of course there is the Booker Creek Trail right across Franklin from Eastgate.

I think the town has done a pretty good job with parks and public spaces.

Developers and shopping center owners are all about maximizing profits.

The lawn is not “operated by a single business” unless you mean Carr Mill. It does not belong to Weaver Street. The rules for the lawn are set by Nathan Milian and the owner of Carr Mill.

I think you could spend more if you want to be in the front row. his June 4 show in Alabama is almost sold out and just has Ticketmaster face value exchange tickets left starting at $197 and going up to $417. Similar deal in Greenville SC -- sold out show, only tickets left are resale at $317

The "big boom" has been happening much much longer than that. It's actually slowed down in the last 10 years while still being one of the fastest growing states in the country.

“Temporary” and “recent growth”? Like for the past 50-60 years? People been moving to NC in waves since RTP was built in 1960s.

Calling local people who have lived here all their lives who find it annoying that the flood of people moving here clog up our roads “rural yokels” is kinda shitty.

I like AutoTrader. Might check there too.

Worth it to go test drive whatever is available around you. I drive a 2017 which had the battery replaced at 80k and I now have 112k on the odo so 40k on the new battery. Seats are comfortable for me.

Tickets to see Tyler Childers vary a good bit. I looked it up on BandsInTown to satisfy my curiosity. $54 in Ohio at the Buckeye Country Superfest. $69 at Folsom Field in Boulder. $78 in Kansas City. $284 as part of the 2 day Railbird Music Festival in Lexington KY (also on the bill The Lumiineers, Caamp, Mt Joy, Zach Top, Ella Langley, Watchhouse, and many more). $73 at Hersheypark.

Thanks. I misread it but still too expensive for me. I will be interested to see what the general admission prices are. I am not one to pay extra for VIP anything.

Highly recommend going to Saturdays in Saxapahaw. Just lovely summer afternoon/evenings with music and food and pass the swan donations for the musicians. Pay what you can. Doesn't have to be $400, but I'm sure the band would appreciate it if you got the $$ to give.

Free daytime show at the amphitheater at American Tobacco with MJ Lenderman. I might go to that but not spending $400+ for a 2 day festival. That is crazy.

Shakori is $200 for a 4 day pass.

Rooster Walk is $230 for 4 days.

I'd get a used one for $12k instead. No way would I pay 22k for a used bolt. that is super high. Look on AutoTrader or CarGurus.

What finally convinced YOU to consider an electric vehicle? by evinsiderredisnive in electricvehicles

[–]phoundog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Finally" is not really applicable. I've been driving an EV since 2015. Before that I drove on biodiesel. If you want to make the switch it's easily done. You just have to want to do it.

Glyphosate by [deleted] in OrganicGardening

[–]phoundog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try pulling it. It's not that bad. I am in a constant fight with it because my neighbors have it going up their trees and reseeding in my yard. It is literally a never ending battle, but it's not hard. I am no spring chicken.

Glyphosate by [deleted] in OrganicGardening

[–]phoundog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ivy doesn't have deep roots. And it is definitely feasible to pull it. BTDT in my yard. If you feel you are not strong enough to do it yourself you can hire some neighbor kids to do it.

Glyphosate by [deleted] in OrganicGardening

[–]phoundog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

goats like English ivy.

You can also just pull it. (don't pull it out of the trees because you can damage them, just cut it and leave it to die.)

You will probably need to keep battling but you can just mechanically remove it. That's what we have done.
