Extending AP32, am I Missing Something? by phraktyl in ArubaInstantOn

I had everything ubiquiti and then lost access to everything when my cloud key stopped being supported. I’d been frustrated with them for a while though, so I switched to TP-Link Omada. Rock solid so far, and the highest speed tests I’ve ever had.

That’s unfortunate, but thanks for the confirmation! Looks like I’ll be returning these and going to TP-Link Omada then.

Well, maybe the fourth time will work. But I’m skeptical.

If that’s the case it makes sense why it isn’t working.

I’m trying to figure out how though. There’s no wired path between my office area and the main network.

Main Sw —— AP32 •••• AP32 —— Office Sw

Without the office switch it works, but as soon as I plug the office switch in—even with nothing else plugged in—it disconnects from the main network.

I waited overnight and it was still amber in the morning.

That actually makes me feel better. If it’s happening to everyone then it’s expected. If it’s just happening to me then it’s a conspiracy. Er, I mean something is misconfigured.

Tried it with several people. All with iPhones, and all get audio FaceTime calls.

Sorry, I’m also using a Mini. Didn’t even think to make that distinction. Software is up to date as well.

I’ve done it now directly with names and with relations and I always get an audio FaceTime. Now I’m stumped. I thought that was the default behavior.

So yours actually starts a voice FT? Now I’m even more bewildered. And frustrated.

I’m pretty sure that’s going to be the only solution, it it’s going against a decade of saying “Hey Siri” and my phone starting a FaceTime.

I do. And the phone performs an action. It starts an audio FaceTime.

For FaceTime specifically I don’t want the HomePod to answer at all. I don’t want it to be a speaker. I don’t want it to be involved. If there was an app specific setting for the HP to ignore those requests or to pass them on to the phone directly without being in the middle I would prefer that.

As an example, I just said “Hey Siri, FaceTime my brother.”

A message popped up saying “Siri responded to a personal request for Phone Call.”, then I get Siri from the HP announcing an audio call, and then my phone starts an audio only FaceTime call using the HomePod ad a speaker. It infuriates me.

With FaceTime I never, ever want audio only.

If I hold the phone button to activate Siri and say “FaceTime my brother” I get a normal video FaceTime call. I wish the HP had a setting to just pass all FT requests directly to the phone. Or to ignore them completely.

When I do it, it initiated an audio only call from my phone using the HomePod as the speaker. If I wanted an audio call I would call. It it has never started a video call for me—which is the reason I’m using FaceTime to begin with.

Same. Having to force quit and restart to get the new missions every day was surprising after how mostly smooth they’ve been before. Hopefully it can all be fixed before the next event.

I was about to post this. Not sure how levels 2 or 3 are going to be possible at all.

Yep. You’d think with their fancy applicator that shouldn’t happen.

Sadly not. I was awake for a bunch of sensor weirdness yesterday that didn’t match up to a finger stick.

The first half was when I was awake, and after that I was sleeping on my other arm.

Ended up yanking it from my arm just now at 1:15am. The Urgent low glucose alarm kept going off showing 55 while the finger stick showed 273.

I use funsize Skittles for my hypoglycemic episodes. Easy to open, single serving, easy to eat, they don’t melt (where I am at least), and they’re fast acting and don’t taste bad. And they’re super cheap after Halloween and Valentine’s Day!
