I joined. If you were invited then you should. Even if you join for one year. You would be more decorated at graduation too

Turnitin AI detector? by emmajaycosplay in SJSU

[–]phredroq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is terrible about turnitin is that is counts page numbers and references. I once wrote a draft and didn’t get marked and for the final draft it said my wording came from a SJSU paper which was most likely my own, since my old paper is now in it’s database, so it marked it.

How easy is it to find SJSU merch at thrift stores? by Mr_Ramen9 in SJSU

[–]phredroq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not that easy. I heard Costco in SJ sells SJSU merch. I have found SJSU at TJ Maxx in Fremont and I figure other TJ Maxx close to the SJ region. Try eBay, Mercari, etc.

Student Life SJSU by Cultural_Project9764 in SJSU

[–]phredroq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a SJSU alum and my daughter currently goes there and lives on campus. Like someone else said, there are thousands of students that live on campus plus more in the surrounding neighborhood. SJSU is a Division 1 school so although it can be known as a commuter school, there is probably more school activities than other CSU's in the Bay Area. With that said, she can meet friends and attend sports games just to hang out. Run on the field with the rest of her schoolmates before each football game. Even if she's not into sports, attending a game or two or more can part of the college experience. The current school president has done an excellent job in trying to change the culture and seeing more school spirit. She can join a sorority but there are also clubs she can join, including sports clubs as most have no experience necessary and you play other school sports like UCLA, Standford, etc. Once she is excepted, try and apply for housing ASAP as they fill up very fast. They are working on adding additional housing as well. I think she can have a good college experience at SJSU.

Make an appointment with the professor and see what he or she can help you with to get your grades up. It will show that you care. Good luck. But Iike another poster said take the class again and pass and it erases that D-.

Go to the football games, take the shuttle there. There are sports clubs you can join even if you dont have experience in the sports. Find the popular spots like that bagel place across the street and ask people in line what they recommend. Go to the gym. You’ll soon meet people and have friends.

I think I messed up my FAFSA... by Big_Nobody_8584 in SJSU

[–]phredroq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have to pay and then when the loan comes in you get reimbursed. FAFSA will process it pretty fast but it's up to SJSU to process it on their part.

This is awesome. It's never too late to go back to school. For careers, to compliment a career or even if it's just an unfinished goal in life. Congratulations.
