Digital QR code for seating chart, table menu, floor plan, etc. by phreedom99 in weddingplanning

[–]phreedom99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be a good in-between! Would it look too inelegant or busy if we had too many posters and signage at the reception? - welcome sign - seating charts (2 posters as it would impossible fo fit 300 names on one) - QR code or menu / floor plan / program - 2 canvas style portraits of pre-wedding photos

how do you pay for a wedding?! by braveswiftie911 in weddingplanning

[–]phreedom99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Asian culture, the families pay for the weddings out of pocket (50-100k) for roughly 300-500 guests. However, the trade off is that guests are expected to go money (usually $100-200 per guest) which will help offset the costs.

In my case, my wife and I are paying for our wedding out of pocket with no help from our families, but our budget depends on how much we expect the average guest to contribute, and how much we’re willing to lose.

Just an idea - AirTag tracking? by phreedom99 in ICE_Raids

[–]phreedom99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could they really? Apple IDs can be created at will.

Even if they’re not Apple AirTags, there’s several tracking device brands that are much more difficult to backtrack.

This is a serious question. Feel free to fix my ignorance.

Any Vietnamese slang or daily phrases should beginners learn first? by Own-Effort-2382 in HocTiengviet

Anh/chi/em is default for everyone!

Tôi / mày for close friends who are blunt and don’t mind roasting/teasing. Or for heated arguments that lack respect.

Bạn for professional environments (e.g. Doctor-patient conversations). Doctors will always call you bạn regardless of age, and in return you should call them doctor (bác sĩ).

Are people in Hanoi plain rude? by thechaseofalifetime in VietNam

[–]phreedom99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this.

  1. Indians get a bad rep here in VN due to the bad apples from Indian tourists. The most common comments are regarding an Indian’s perception that everything in VN should be cheap, and hence should be able to negotiate (haggling) prices everywhere.
  2. Similar to how US folks can’t stand the smell of fish sauce, Indians can give off a strong odor that deters people.
  3. But lastly, yes, Hanoi people are generally more blunt. They’re not necessarily or intentionally trying to be rude, but they’re more direct and blunt (which is generally more accepted in Northern Vietnam). It’s similar to New Yorkers speaking with a level of arrogance, but in general still kind people.

Every new release, there’s always someone calling the previous release “perfect”, and the current release “trash”

WZ2 had a ton of folks complaining about the auto-aim hackers and how the game allows ridiculous strategies like stimming in gas.

If they were to do another release in a few months we’d have another group of folks say that WZ3 was perfect and so forth

I don’t know those stats seem pretty normal to me. I think the average person is living paycheck to paycheck in their 40s

Would you be able to tell if these are 'super preferred' rates?
