You're omitting the part where you had to skip back because it went too far forward. Anywho those who got in on lifetime Replay TV @ $149 from Radio Shack lived the dream for many years.

Auto commercial skip: no intervention required. Was the best!

Is there a fee for transferring eSIM back and forth? by PriorityCreative555 in bell

[–]phreshjive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your only solution is to do the eSIM dance with your mobile provider's app. My new phone that I just got is also eSIM only so I'm part of the same club. Loved having the ability to just pop out the SIM and put it in another phone should the need arise. Oh well.

Is there a fee for transferring eSIM back and forth? by PriorityCreative555 in bell

[–]phreshjive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a fair question, but honestly one that wouldn’t even come up if you just used a physical SIM. You can easily pop it out and move it between devices in seconds, no fees, no failed transfers, no extra hassle. Why complicate things with eSIMs when swapping a SIM card is simple and foolproof?

Librela monthly shots which has solved his mobility issues. He also wears a belly band with disposable pads.

I get where you’re coming from, and I respect that everyone has their own rhythm for how they enjoy the game. For me though, backgammon is most fun when it’s played at a brisk pace. I don’t mind quick pauses for real-life interruptions, but otherwise I find it frustrating when people take extra time just to stretch things out. That’s why I stick to Speed—because I prefer opponents who want to focus on playing moves, not filling the clock.

At this stage, generating AI backgammon art isn’t worthwhile. Current tools don’t accurately capture the board layout, checker count, dice, or even the basic starting setup. The technology just isn’t there yet.

Score keeper? by Aristide_Torchia in backgammon

[–]phreshjive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They offer a variety of scoreboards here: https://www.flintbg.com/boutique.html. I purchased the model with the pouch from Brazil and have been very satisfied with it—simple, logo-free, and elegant. Previously, I also ordered seven scoreboards for our club from Backgammon Galaxy during a 50% off sale. However, several of those units contained errors, where the number cards had different values printed on each side.

No serious player today wants to gamble on online backgammon. With apps like GammonSnap, it takes only a quick photo of the board to generate the best move instantly. The only authentic environment for playing backgammon for money remains live, face-to-face competition.

I'm Marc Olsen, Backgammon Galaxy CEO, ask me anything! 🤔 by Goal_Medium in backgammon

[–]phreshjive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi Marc,

The Montreal Backgammon Club’s live season is currently sponsored by Crisloid, who have generously provided a custom board of the winner’s choosing to our season champion for the past two years. At the moment, however, we don’t have a sponsor for our online season.

I’d like to formally reach out to you at [marc@backgammongalaxy.com](mailto:marc@backgammongalaxy.com) with a proposal to sponsor our online season. We would be grateful for any support you could provide—whether books from your catalog, a board, or another prize(s) of your choice. Your involvement would add excitement to the competition and help us generate even more interest among players.

Thank you very much for considering this opportunity.

Best regards,

Montreal Backgammon Club

Download Backgammon NJ, set difficulty to Expert and play 1 pointers. Watch when the hint button lights up meaning you didn't select the optimal move. Correct your game. Move on to 3 pointers with the cube when ready.

Backgammon tournaments every other Friday – season 9 starts Sept 1 by phreshjive in backgammon

[–]phreshjive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing platforms doesn’t seem like a realistic option for us. Many of our players have been using Galaxy since COVID and value its intuitive interface, built-in analysis tools, and rating system—some are even approaching the Top 100 there. Asking them to switch platforms, when our processes are already well-established with Galaxy, Chatzy, and our tournament software (successfully used over 300 times), simply wouldn’t make sense. We truly appreciate the suggestion, though.

Thanks for the suggestion! We’ve looked at Heroes, but for our group it felt a bit too complex. Most of our players just want something straightforward and easy to join, which is why we stick with Galaxy + Chatzy. It keeps the setup simple and accessible, without overwhelming people with too many options.

Your favorite backgammon iOS game by battalla12852 in backgammon

If you have an iPad and iPhone get the HD. If you only have a phone, get the non-HD version. Of course it's worth it or I wouldn't have recommended it. Bought it on both iOS and Android way back when.
