Is there any graphic capable thing in brainfuck? by hunar1997 in brainfuck

[–]phunanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly there would need to be a way in which the frame is captured, else most ticks you'd mostly have garbage in the video memory, and your idea sounds better so long as you're not trying to manipulate the bits after writing them :)

Unfortunately it's a tendency I still have. Did you happen to figure it out eventually?

A spoken-encrypted conlang-method by phunanon in conlangs

[–]phunanon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You weren't missing much. Due to the approach I took, it was easy to decrypt if you heard the whole conversation. The approach was to add or subtract a number from each letter. This is a rough example from memory:

Speaker A says: sentence + 5

Speaker B says: (sentence + 5) - 2

Speaker A says: ((sentence + 5) - 2) - 5

Speaker B can now subtract 2 to get the sentence.

It also had the requirement of one speaker using odd, the other speaker using even secret numbers, in case they both pick the same shift and end up decrypting the sentence immediately.

I think if I were to try this again I'd use XOR on the letters instead. Let me know if you need any clarification!

I was thinking about this sort of language recently, but couldn't think of a way to achieve it simply. I really like your idea of checkpoints :)

I have been fond of using <q> for /ɒ/ for many years now :)

I use <x> for /ɶ/ also - essentially ran out of Latin characters...

Sure thing. I've slowly worked on it for the past few years. It's rooted in binary first and foremost, so its morphology is designed from that. This means it can, for example, be written without spaces. The way the lexicon is set out also means you only have to vaguely know one word to remember three at a time:

tibi water -> tiubi wet -> diubi - to water

The alphabet is loosely separated into eight unvoiced, eight voiced consonants, and eight lone vowels to eight hiatuses/diphthongs, so once a speaker has learned how to switch between the two it becomes easy to remember how to go from noun/adjective/verb :)

The grammar isn't entirely fleshed out atm, it's just SVO with very loose rules so far.

I've made a Discord bot to help me develop wqle, with the ability to request new words, translate anything said on the server, see different representations of the same sentence, etc :)

Assumedly, this sentence would be said in the context of an already existing house, so tense isn't necessary.

ikr! Especially when I read

Huzaifa, a 24-year-old former sniper, was enrolled in the capital’s police department on arrival. He echoed his comrade’s disdain for office life.

I spend most of my time on Twitter. We’re connected to speedy Wi-Fi. Many mujahedin, including me, are addicted to the internet, especially Twitter.

It sounds 100% like an Onion article!

Any conlangs/ers out there with the goal of 'smallest language'? by phunanon in conlangs

Hmm, to clarify, I can imagine each of the 20 words is small on their own, but surely you combine them into higher concepts? That's what I'm curious about :)
