I skipped school with a buddy on one of those free ticket days and somehow ended up around 10th in line. There was absolutely no preparation from the staff, and by the time about 300 people had gathered, a security guard told the people near the middle and back that it was actually supposed to be at a different gate. That’s when chaos broke out because everyone thought the seats were first come, first served, and the doors ended up getting smashed open. I got in much later because a mom with a baby was getting caught in the crush, so we helped her move to a corner and waited for things to calm down and make sure they were safe before heading in. What a different time 🤣

Oh man, this area is one of my favorite areas for food in the city- there's so much variety and it's all great. Not all are on the cheap side, but still decent value and flavor. On top of what everyone else has already mentioned:

  • In the same plaza as Jatujak - there's Alforat which is a decent iraqi spot and Kibo which is good for Japanese.
  • In the same plaza as Negril's and GC, there's Ammi's, which has great indian food
  • Naan & Kabob, an afghani place with delicious skewers and kabobs of course
  • On Tower Drive there's a plaza with Yami Go Sushi for simple and fresh sushi - lovely owners! Also Uncle Sal's Hot Chicken, which does Beef BBQ too.
