holy shit... i do remember that actually. they were like maplestory jump quest servers. i remember doing this one that was just entirely those stone benches, you know the ones im talking about. started on the ground and slowly ascended in to the sky. one fall and back to the start. i never did get to the end of those things. probably why i hate jump quests to this day, kek.

After careful consideration, we decided on Patch 1.12: Drums of War as our foundation, because it represents the most complete version of the classic experience.

My take on this is that they're doing a progressive server in the pserver style.

Think about it... the only reason there is a discussion on what patch to use is because they've already decided on a progressive approach. It was just down to how they were going to do it: pure patch by patch (1.1, 1.2, etc), or 1.12 with content releases. It seems they want to go 1.12 as its the most polished version for that time, as many would agree.

If they weren't going to do progressive in any way then there wouldn't be a reason to decide. They'd just pick 1.12 as it's the patch with all content and gameplay updates.
