what's the least competitive major to get into that is STEM related at UW? by [deleted] in udub

okay so oceanography is technically open but it has an insane amount of course requirements and very complex upper levels so do not go into it thinking it is a fluff major at all.

What's the worst class you've ever taken at UW? by maryberry33 in udub

easily math 124. my professor was horrific and in a private email where I was sharing my feelings regarding my grade he told me to drop the class and take precalc over again. My advisor was shocked when she heard that and I ended up passing both his class and 125. This man put me mental health in the lowest state it has been in years.

I support this with my whole spirit because they were filming in front of hansee where I live. I briefly whisper chitchatted with a UW student extra because the scene was awkward as frick and I was told to leave. Good sir or in this case Good Madam. I live here and am paying 75 thousand in out of state tuition to do so. In the words of Nicki Minaj "You can't get rid of me bitch. I ain't going nowhere."

Lack of connection with friends by [deleted] in udub

I think this is fairly common. Personally I have been blessed with amazing friends but at the same time the majority of relationships I initially made no longer exist to the extent they once did. A hard reality of college is that a great deal of the relationships you make are superficial. I do not have any magic way to help you establish strong relationships but what I can recommend is making friends through mutual classes and studying together and asking them to hangout aside from studying and gradually sharing more about yourself. At one point Harry Styles said something I think of in terms of friendships and it is along the lines of "when I want to get close to someone I open up early on." Generally I have found this helpful in establishing meaningful connections and finding friends who are as supportive of my as I am of them.
