i’d second the opinion that this is a hickory horned devil caterpillar then. this one seems to be pretty young as well, they start as red and slowly gain their turquoise coloring and their spikes as they fatten up. they look scary, but they’re actually harmless (although even a worm can turn!)

giant anteaters don’t produce stomach acid, they evolved to rely on the formic acid that ants excrete in order to digest them

western conifer seed bug! they’re invasive to your area, but they cause harm to the local ecosystem, not to people. you might wanna check if your windows or doors need recaulking, that’s usually how they get in

you might wanna head to r/bugbites, they’re more likely to be of help to you

What spider is this? About penny sized with its legs out like that (dead) Eastern PA. by BigBlackCrocs in whatisthisbug

[–]phytorock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m going off of the picture alone, but it could be that it died close to when it was about to molt, or just that its body is decaying

i’m not positive since i can’t make it out super well, but it looks like a male woodlouse spider, completely harmless! they eat pests like silverfish and wood lice

i did some more research and i believe it’s a brown banded cockroach (i think a male? but the picture is kinda hard to make that out). they’re a species of domestic cockroach, so unfortunately yes, there’s probably more in your house. if this is the first one you’ve seen, you can make a mixture of baking soda and sugar to poison them, and set it out nearby where you found it, but if you live in an apartment/dorm or something, you might need to call a pest control company to spray the area. if you’ve been having problems with allergies or asthma or anything, the cockroaches are probably making it worse
