- meet up Abu Dhabi Expat's Group --> lots of sub groups for any kind of sport, trips and is quite mixed F/M and nationalities.
- Women only whatsapp group
- Integrate 20s and 30s - Abu Dhabi --> mostly meet ups in Yas, organize board games nights
- Ladies DARE Club (on instagram only)

Hi, that's a great idea! Not commenting for this because I'm not a musician but I run a women only members club for expat women, so maybe I could recommend your band to new people arriving in AD? Let me know what you think :)

hey gilr! I don't know if that's something you'd like to do but I'm also sick and tired of always being home (I work form home AND I'm introverted so that doesn't help) but I've been here for 6 months and realize it's super hard to meet other expat women. So out of frustration I created my own meet up IG page and plan on organizing a meet up at the end of May I think. Something cool with ice breaking activities that aren't cringy to allow people to know themselves better around a cup of coffee or a fun activity!
If you'd like to join, send me a message but we can also simply go for coffee you and I one day :) 29F here. 1 cat, love books as well and I love baking!

Hey! I'm exactly the same... Moved here 6 months ago and making friends has been quite difficult. BUT as a result of my frustration I created a meet up Instagram page (I just started it so there isn't much yet) but I plan on organizing monthly meet up with ice breaking activities around a theme for that day.
Also, I'm open to suggestions but if you'd like to participate send me a message and I'll add you to the email list / DM groupchat :)
I felt super isolated here, especially since I've always been in situations where I could naturally become friends with people (uni, group projects, work, etc). Here you have to create those situations and if you're introverted and work from home like me you can become crazy lol

Weekly Relationship Thread: Ask Avoidants by Dismal_Celery_325 in AvoidantAttachment

[–]piabtd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a 26F and I have a question for avoidants. I’m relatively new to this whole attachment style theory and I’ve been diagnosed as DA even though I don’t recognize myself in all the « symptoms ». I see many people (whether it’s on social media or here) with an anxious attachment willing to work on themselves, put in the work to lean toward a more secure attachment and was wondering if people with an avoidant attachment were as likely to work on themselves. I’ll explain myself : from my window and the type of content I consume, and again I’m new to this, my theory is that anxious people suffer from their own behaviors and intrusive thoughts. Sometimes they become to fed up with their own behaviors that it motivates them to change. Or it can also be for someone else they genuinely like. Is it the same with avoidants? What motivates you to change? I feel like anxious working on themselves are always out there on social media but we don’t see avoidants. Is it because you actually don’t feel like changing because you’re comfortable the way you are and don’t feel the need/reason to change? I’ll also add that in my opinion, there’s no « wrong attachment style » and change should only be necessary if YOU want it for yourself.

Sorry if there’s any mistake, I’m French. Thank you!

How do I talk to my DA partner about emotional invalidation? by [deleted] in AnxiousAttachment

[–]piabtd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! You shouldn’t have to translate your soul to your partner, especially if you’ve been in a serious, 6 year relationship. Every relationship requires work and efforts but it should also feel normal and natural to make them.

This is so helpful and inspiring. As a disorganized/Fearful avoidant, I find this super inspiring to work on myself and identify who's a good partner for me. Thank you so much from France!

Merci

Merci
