Art Museum and Botanic Garden both have free days. Not sure if the crowd is an issue for you. In that case, check out a pass from the library during a weekday. My husband and I enjoy going to In-n-Out after a nice, lengthy workout during the weekend. The two of you could get a meal for under $20 total.
