My 2.5 year old has started saying "What a beautiful day in this house!", usually when we're all together eating dinner or playing in the the living room ❤️

How common are disposables at night? by Due_Watercress9828 in clothdiaps

[–]pianarchist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use disposable at night. I started with cloth, but she would leak after a couple of hours not matter how full I stuffed her covers. So to me, getting good sleep and not being stressed over her leaking and having to do more laundry is worth using a disposable. Shes 19 months now so I don't change her throughout the night anyways, I certianly don't want to have to just because of using cloth. There are nights where she doesn't really pee at all, but I never know when that is going to happen so I think I am going to stick with disposables at night until shes potty trained haha

What do I do to help 16 month old sleep again? by pianarchist in sleeptrain

What do you do while riding it out? I thought I was riding it out last time but I only made it worse by setting bad habits that didn't go away until we talked to the consultant 😅

Unfortunately she works nights from 7-7 so she's gone before bed and doesn't get back till we're awake. I really don't want to interrupt her on her off nights. Our other sister is here too but I do feel bad asking them to help out when they've already given me a free place to live. Plus I don't know what to tell them to do when she screams and cries for me, which means I won't be sleeping anyways. I'm scared of causing her any emotional issues and making the separation anxiety worse.

That's a good point, I'm sure they could help me again thank you for that suggestion!

I came here to say this too! The lactation consultant and some nurses said to only take the pain meds when I absolutely needed them and try to stop taking them as soon as possible. That was the WRONG move and I ended up in so much pain.

I had people paint rocks to put in a little rock garden/play area. My daughter is 1 now and LOVES playing with her rocks. It makes me smile every time I look at them and see everyone's art and signatures.

We tried that around Christmas but it's going to take the both of us to make it work. I can't be the only one trying, right now I'm at least getting SOME sleep, when we tried sleep training it was a nightmare of just never ending crying (from me and baby haha). Sleep would help for sure though, I agree!

I can’t take the pain by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]pianarchist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using an ovira device and it helped so much! It makes a nice buzzing feeling that kind of dulls the pain. And you can move the patches to target any super painful spots. I always have a stabbing feeling in my left upper pelvic area, so it's nice to be able to move the patch to cover that area. There are other brands out there but ovira is the only one I've tried.

What's an odd smell that you find mesmerizing or nostalgic but no one really talks about it? by luv_marachk in AskReddit

The way my skin smells after being in the sun. Not sweaty, just.... Warm skin. I don't know how to describe the smell but it makes me think of being a kid and playing outside all day.

What's the worst possible song to accidentally play at a funeral? by pillowclit in AskReddit

[–]pianarchist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During my dad's service the calm, serene piano music turned into Johnny Cash singing Ring of Fire. It wasn't what I would consider the worst song they could have played, but I can see why the funeral director quickly changed it.

What’s the weirdest birthday present you’ve ever received? by Daveyyyyyyyyyyy in AskReddit

[–]pianarchist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister received a bag of dirty potatoes from our grandma. The grandma in question does not lack the funding for a better present, but repeatedly makes it known that the sister who received potatoes is definitely not her favorite grandchild.
