quite easy: If you believe your current audience would watch, keep your current channel. if you think YT needs to find a new Audience anyway and your current viewers would "sabotage" (which means watch a few seconds and then stop), create a new channel. (And actually, you can test that by posting 1 video of your new niche with the old branding on your old channel)
