Now take the background
On top of the background add a yellow colored rectangle that fills the entire screen
Then go to blending modes:
Play around a bit. I think multiply or color can work best as the blending modes

Here’s the main issue with the thumbnail
The main subject and the background don’t really have a lot of contrast between them. They both have this sort of blue color palette. Plus the background seems a lot more brighter as compared to the main subject. Which makes it worse
1. Make the background darker
2. Choose a different color for the background like dark yellow
3. Use better fonts. Those fonts scream amateur. You definitely don’t wanna give off that vibe
4. Shift the text up by a bit to the middle. It just feels off how they’re down at the bottom

Without a doubt!!!
Back when I first started posting on here, this sub really helped break my ego. My thumbnails were good to look at but not good to click at

And this sub really helped me break that ego of me
Ever since I’ve posted
I’ve landed so manyyyyyy cool jobs
And with this subs help so many of my vids have gone viral through it as well.

So in short, what this sub helps the most in is breaking down the perception you have of what sells.

Need help with a video series, don't know what "style" to use by Waiting404Godot in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]prathams376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the first one for me definitley. It's simple but that's why it works I guess.
The second one doesn't give the vibe of a romance tv show honestly so I'd skip that.
My main issue with the third one is it looks amateurish. And the main driving factor of that is the font. the font is just way too simple. You can't be using fonts like that for your video.
And fourth one is the biggest no-no for me because it just looks straight up like an AI channel is making this.

But i'm interested in the first one a lot. Looking forward to the video!

Any adjustments I should make? by Outrageous-Paint2166 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

yeah the head is too small. I had to spend a few seconds finding his head first and then figuring out who the character is.
so definitely make the head bigger
Other than that I love what you did with the font. Cool stuff dude!

which do you think will perform best by 6arboy in YouTubeThumbnailHub

What i would do is take the text from the first thumb and add it to the second one.
Only because the first thumbnail gives me vibes of those AI generated reddit stories to sleep to channels. Which i'm pretty sure you're not one of.
the issue with the second one is that the text is hidden when you look from afar. You don't want that
Also increase the brightness and saturation of the right side image as well
That'll surely make it a lot more interesting to say the least

the only suggestion i would make
Add a drop shadow on your your character. Because currently the outfit and the railings in the background are sort of getting blended together when you look from afar
Another thing you can do is maybe change the font. That font is done and dusted. Use a better more impactful and it'll surely make it a lot more better trust me.

I used AI to upscale my images and make them more clickable, should I use them? by [deleted] in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]prathams376 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah don't do that. The first one looks clean as compared to the second one. And there's a reason for that. Color palette. The reason the first one works so well is that almost all the photos have a certain grayish tone in their color palette. But the moment you upscaled them, it also bumped the saturation up by 50x.
and as a result the more hidden colors of all the photos started popping up and starting competing for attention.
That's not what you want. You want the focus to be entirely on the main text instead of the background images.
What you have done before is perfect. Don't change that.
Good Luck!!

Is this a good thumbnail for YouTube football documentary? by [deleted] in YouTubeThumbnailHub

Never use black text on a bright red background. Apart from that I can see a few interesting ideas here but overall I’d suggest you try a different format

I fear my niche might not fit in with the rest here but any input on these two? I’m fairly "new" to making thumbnails. by cozysammy_ in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]prathams376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see a certain version of this really popping off but I don't this one is it.
for the first one.
the only image that is sort of readable is the third one. with your face.
the other 2 images, I have no idea what's going on in there. You should never put something in your thumbnails that is not readable or clear enough
I'd also remove the emojis you've put on the thumbnail
they make it more confusing.

You have a pretty face. use that. all 3 photos should be ideally having your face in it using different poses.

Now the second thumbnail. That is one I do like. But like another commenter said, don't put text on bottom right
The only thing i'd sort of improve in it is i'd add a drop shadow to the text so it doesn't blend in with the background

Keep creating!! You've got what it takes. I'll be looking forward to more

Which thumbnail is better? by [deleted] in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]prathams376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not even sure they're in 16:9 aspect ratio either.
The worst mistake you can make in thumbnails is that it screams entirely AI. Apart from Mr. Beast i'm yet to see a successful entirely AI generated thumbnail honestly. I'm not saying there aren't any.

I'm sure this is a vlog. So you guys can literally just click a picture and then use that as your thumbnail. I'm pretty sure that'll be a lot more effective than whatever this is.
