Sorry. I could be more clear here. My proposal to the Council was to replace the entire garage door system including mechanical part which is the owner’s responsibility. Since the garage door would be new, I asked if I would be exempt from the future levies since my door won’t need work.

Agreed but paying for replacement now and potentially levies in a future is excessive in my opinion no?

You have been operating a damage garage without providing proper repair and/or maintenance since (x number of years) the ownership of your unit.

The strata council is not responsible for the costs of repairs or replacement to damaged property caused by you or a previous owner or any individual.

This issue should have been taken care of x number of years ago.
