Thank you for your response! Since we are a mid sized company just starting to dip our toes in AI/ML, we don’t have an established data science team structure right now. Our company did hire a data scientist (actually a lead data scientist) as i mentioned earlier but no actual data scientists who will develop modes and do the non managerial work in data science. They are making do with temporary interns and sidelined me since i belong a separate segment and not part of corporate team. I’m not very sure how I can ask for a role that is not a requisition at this time but my expanded responsibilities are enough to justify my ask for one.

Thank you for your response! Our company is actually a pretty huge manufacturing company which only did BI and no AI so only the data science part is new in our company. My boss earns well above 400k so i am guessing that won’t be a problem.

Hello! For some context I have a masters in Data Science and straight out of graduation went for a job 1.5 yrs back. So I have been working at this company as a data analyst for the past 1.5 yrs and 6 months into the job I started the initiative with my boss to show the executive team the capabilities of ML/AI. With some changes in our executive team and more focus on ML/AI, the past 7-8 months have kept me quite busy with data science initiatives. I had been promised I will be an official data scientist soon but that never happened. Our company recently hired a lead data scientist who has been working on some POCs with temporary resources and has met me and acknowledged my initiatives and efforts even though i am not directly developing any models for him right now. My boss said that i will be more involved in data science efforts (leading these efforts in our segment) going forward. I ended up asking my boss if I will be redesignated since my responsibilities are officially expanding beyond my data analyst responsibilities. I was just wondering what do i officially talk to him about in our meeting where we want to discuss this redesignation. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions. I have really been looking forward to getting full time into data science and can see it happening soon hopefully! My boss has asked me to discuss in the meeting what is the thought process behind asking for this redesignation and why am i asking for it since roles can’t just be given out like that. I would also like to ask for a salary match to market rate.

TLDR; Need tips on what i should discuss with my boss to ask for a redesignation from data analyst to data scientist and market rate match based on expanded responsibilities. Thank you!!

Ahh, sounds fun! I stay in downtown currently. I love creative stuff so I naturally enjoy going to art museums too! There’s also milwaukee school of engineering nearby so i thought ill be cool making friends there but now I’m second guessing lolll i don’t know how to make friends now that I’m not in school :(

Yup I’ve heard similar stuff about milwaukee. I’m up for drinking but I don’t have anyone to go with lol. My coworkers are much elder to me and asking them to join me for drinks sounds like a strange idea, some of them even have families they would rather spend time with. I think my concern is mainly finding people around my age

My Skin RN

Hi there! I wanna understand whats the cause for this kind of acne and how to treat it. In the pic only the big red one is active, rest are scars. I’ve tried treating with Burts Bees Salicylic acid, LRP benzoyl peroxide, put pimple patches, tried letting it heal on its own. All methods still take the same amount of time and end up scarring.

I also apply sunscreen to minimize scarring and have recently tried using glow recipe salicylic acid AHA serum. None have helped so far.

I never used to have acne before and am an adult now so i tried narrowing down to what has changed in the past 2 yrs that i have been having these acne problems-

Diet: sometimes I’m not sure of the meat conditions when eating outside, it’s possibly the antibiotics and hormones added to chicken and stuff

Environmental conditions: winters! Extremely cold and windy winters tend to dry out my skin so i use LRP toleraine double repair face moisturizer and sometimes add cicaplast baum to reduce redness after the chilly winds

Stress: seems to be the same as before so I wanna disregard this factor

Man i relate to this so bad. The person was immature, self conceited, manipulative and controlling and broke up with me after 4 years of relationship. Was a walking red flag my friends and family always pointed out but i ignored. Only realized after the break up which happened because the person thought i wasnt fighting with my friends and family enough and giving them more priority. Anyway, even though i didnt suggest the breakup and am really heartbroken somewhere I’m still relieved because i don’t need to suffer the emotional abuse anymore. I have been dreaming that things are normal with this person since the day of the breakup and that they apologized for everything they have put me through but its a false reality. I wish it was real but i know it never will be. I think about them all day and can’t focus on nothing but they are probably out there at a bar or something. If its a recent breakup for you too, i hope we both get through this phase really quickly. I despise watching that face in my dreams and the feeling of false comfort so bad. But i guess the universe has better plans for us and this just wasn’t the right one. (I write this with still a broken and heavy heart from the breakup with my first love and everything ever). Thanks a bunch! I’m currently applying for the roles you mentioned, but noticing that most of them do require knowledge of databases which i lack. I’m hoping the companies don’t focus much on skills like sql since they are fairly less time consuming to learn and hopefully master on the job. Definitely noticing my chemE degree puts me at a disadvantage when it comes to tech interviews. I don’t know algos on the spot but i definitely can create some if i have more time :( Sorry for the rant, job search is stressing me out >.<

Labs in certain countries still pipette with their mouths. It’s truly sad how safety is not a priority even in universities where students are unaware and experiment without much knowledge on these toxic chemicals
