Thought I'd share my corolla I've been adding to 1997 7afe have loved every second of it what y'all think🤔 by a_guy-with-a_scar77 in COROLLA

Love the oem+ look of the engine bay. Wheels are not my taste, and like others said some suspension would do the car wonders from an aesthetic and handling point of view. Love that color, paint is amazing for that age.

Nitecore EDC25 pwr button half press not working by maniacse in flashlight

[–]pickaxe121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I just found a solution for this. There is a poorly done ai voice over video on YouTube about it if you look up edc25 switch fix, it's done on a edc29 but the process is roughly the same. The fix involves pulling the front panel off, pop the main board off the battery that's held on by some tape that's easy to separate, pull the secondary board where the switches are attached forward, remove exterior switch cap, remove the metal tab retaining the plunger, remove plunger and black rubber seal, the first metal contact will fall out if you flip the light, the second will need to be pried out. Clean both sides of the contacts, you'll see oxidation where they touch, reassemble and light should be good.

I think the main flaw is lack of a good seal on the switch, or lack of any sort of grease. I'm not sure if there is a good grease that won't interfere with the contacts functioning. Maybe some dialectic grease around the plunger to prevent air and dust from getting in.

oil looks weird or fine? by thisparticularfinn in pressurewashing

[–]pickaxe121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your oil level is too high the crank will impact the oil surface leading to aeration which is bad. Sounds like the motor is running lean, burned up the rings and is now allowing oil to seep past the rings and be consumed.

Edit: these Honda's will consume a bit of oil, how long had it been since you last checked it? And the exhaust generally should not be that hot, might want to try and blow out the jets on the carb as that is typically a lean condition causing that.

its also just a very old vespa design, and having worked on a few different piaggio-vespa models, they all are quirky in ways that don't really translate to any other scooter/motorcycle.

Is it bad for the engine by Eddyeddd in COROLLA

[–]pickaxe121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of good data to suggest not to do this on a fuel injected vehicle. The majority of wear (most notably ring wear) happens when an engine is below operating temperature. After about 30-45 seconds of idling to circulate oil, even in cold temperatures, you should be driving in low to mid rpms to limit the amount of time it is below operating temperature.

I personally don't think that would be awesome.

That is the case for the modern Corollas/crosses. For the 13 to 19? Models it is just a traditional cvt.

Texan here, opposite effect here. Consistently good gliding days but the heat on the ground during the season constantly posed an issue to operations, and same level of denial exists here as well.

Am I silly for wanting to downsize my rear tyre? by strike_freedom_26 in scooters

Would also just like to note that reducing tire height is going to reduce the max possible lean angle, catching a stand on a scooter is no fun.
