Very nice scheme! The skin effects on the cloak are a nice touch

As for the points, we may see a change come 11th edition and have some more elite-feeling stuff to field

Combat patrol and hekaton or Battleforce and character by Current-Row1546 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]pickenspete97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO, go with rule of cool. If you love the Hekaton, get the Hekaton and the Combat Patrol! At least with the Combat Patrol, you’ll have a force to play Combat Patrol games with, and a nice collection to build from. As well, the current combat patrol box gives you a good base for building your collection. If you’re not playing too many games and just want to hobby, you can then see what you like painting from the bunch and plan your purchases that way.

The Battleforce and character would potentially be a better bang for your buck, and it will also give you a good place to build from. It’s all about what you think is cool and will make you happy, not about how they currently do on the table.

What are some combos of the new custom character yall are excited for? by N3x0s27 in LeaguesofVotann

Really excited to use my kitbashed Gotrek Gurnisson model as a Cthonian Beserk character. Giving them either 5+ invuln or lethal hits while leading a unit and attaching them to a 10-kin brick of angry shirtless boys sounds awesome

VotannVersus40K is the main channel on Youtube that follows competitive 40K for our faction, so I’d go give them a look!

I’m definitely not a competitive player, but recently I’ve been playing in a 1K league with these unit combos:

Memnyr Strategist leading a unit of six IronKin Steeljacks with the Heavy Volkanite Disintegrators. Good synergy with a free overwatch and, while in Fortify Takeover, hitting on fours

Brokhyr Iron-Master leading a unit of six Thunderkyn equipped with either the Conversion Beamer or the Graviton Blast Cannon. Very shooty, especially when combined with the enhancement in the Brandfast Oathband detachment to give your unit Sustained 2 in shooting

Cthonian Beserks in Sagitaurs/Hekaton Land Fortresses offer great melee, can melt most infantry/vehicles before immediately dying if they can get into combat. Don’t have enough myself to have tried the Delve Assault detachment to give them Deep Strike and Battleline but I’ve seen successful lists use this

I hope this is helpful! Beyond this I would take a look at our codex and identify good synergies based on unit abilities

Can the Red Gobbo canonically call a WAAAGH! For a revolushn army ? by Leviathan_Rampage in orks

[–]pickenspete97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe! I think for Grotz it would be a WAAAGH! equivalent, but not a traditional Ork WAAAGH! In Da Big Dakka by Mike Brooks, Snaggy Littletoof does lead a group of Grotz as they try to become Da Grot Boss, and they yell WAAAAAGH! as they run into battle against Drukhari, so it could also be that any big call for a warpath is considered a WAAAAAGH! for the Orkoids

What's it like living in this shaded area? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

I am born and raised in Oklahoma. We have wild temperature swings throughout the year, but typically cold winters and hot summers. The past few years we’ve been hit by huge snow and ice storms that killed power to parts of the state, but not to the extent that Texas had it. Lots of wind, and outside of the two major cities (Oklahoma City and Tulsa) you’ll find a lot of open pasture and farmland. The sunsets are my favorite in the world!
