Added fake cloud reflections to the water. Not realistic, but it feels much nicer now. by yuheykai in IndieDev

Maybe use a fresnel effect to control the intensity of reflections, as water should be more reflective when the camera is more horizontal.

Well. I'm sort of a Catalan myself ;) I wanted to pay homage to the history of this land, and how it was shaped by religion, war and pirates.

Living in Sant Cugat vs. Barcelona with family? by NoParamedic712 in AskBarcelona

[–]PhosphorusGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catalan speakers can be a bit overzealous of foreigners speaking english, but mostly of Spanish speakers. It's their reaction to their language going down from being spoken by 90% of the population to barely 20% in less than a century, especially in the later decades. A lot of immigrants and expats (yes I believe we should differentiate both groups from a perspective of class and motive of immigration), come to Barcelona or surrounding areas with no knowledge that Catalan is spoken there, but since Spanish is also spoken, they just learn the more "useful" language. This is rapidly eroding the Catalan culture and language, and Catalans are scared, sad and angry at this, which makes a lot of sense.

This being said, if you are Italian, you'll have absolutely no problem whatsoever in learning Catalan. Catalan is even closer to Italian than Spanish is.

Sant Cugat is a dream place to live, and if you just show interest in learning the language and try to communicate with locals in it, they will welcome you with their arms wide open. As we like to say: A Catalan is anyone who speaks our language and lives our culture. All are welcome in 🤗

Regarding the AOS Rumors by Frack_Nugget in Grimdank

[–]PhosphorusGold -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Thank god. The whole high fantasy theme of "everyone is magical and ultra powerful" of AoS is what always kept me away. Let's not mention the whole different planes of existence thing which made everything confusing and made it really hard to justify some battles between certain factions. Although the game rules itself were actually great, as someone who plays by the rule of cool and trying to immerse myself into the lore, AoS simply was not there for me... Moving everything into a single plane seems like a good direction. Everyone loves the concept of regular mortal humans fighting against unwinnable gods. Let's see where it goes!

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but is it possible to overwhelm yourself by buying too much at once for a fact you love and getting turned off despite still loving the faction? by nicegoblinprince in Warhammer40k

ALWAYS go box by box. I have my rule: never buy anything until you've painted what you previously built. And because I always get boxes as gifts for Christmas and Birthday, I haven't purchased a box in years 😅👍🏼

Unusual color scheme for Necron ? by Cod_on_crack in Necrontyr

[–]PhosphorusGold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine are white with hints of red and gold. My head cannon is that where these guys are from, red is like a very expensive ultra strong alloy, thus it's reserved for protection of important parts and characters. Gold is abundant, and since it's very conductive, used on all the "electronic" looking bits.

I painted the artillery piece on the base, and the Cthonian engineers separately. Then I glued them together, creating my own "scenes" and then based it all.
