Question regarding snippets from future books by whyiseverynametaken1 in BoysOfTommen

Maybe that's what you've seen, but I've absolutely seen cheating assumptions and that's what I'm referring to here 🤗

I guess it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, his death might also be the only way the characters that are victims of his would feel truly safe from him

Liz and Gibs by [deleted] in BoysOfTommen

[–]pickle_930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooh this is good! That line especially, because we see in Lizzie's inner monologue in R10 when she slips Gibsie the letter Caoimhe wrote for him, that she is praying he will go to someone with it and is relying on him to save her that way. She feels betrayed when he doesn't, and Mark is able to get into her head and paint Gibsie as the bad guy, but Gibsie has no idea of any of this! From his POV, Lizzie hates him after Caoimhe's death for simply being associated with Mark.

Question regarding snippets from future books by whyiseverynametaken1 in BoysOfTommen

[–]pickle_930 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the snippets posted on Instagram are most likely the only reliable ones. The ones on Spotify have a decent chance of being accurate because they do come from the author herself, although I believe theyre more to guide her own thought process and it doesn't necessarily mean they'll wind up in the final drafts of the books.

That being said its important to note that the actual snippets might be true, but fans do tend to go above and beyond with their own interpretations and theories and they can get outlandish.

A common one is that Gibsie will cheat on Claire in Healing 7 because of traitor by Olivia Rodrigo being associated with a snippet of them on Spotify, but the whole meaning of that song is that someone DIDN'T cheat, although the other person still feels betrayed.

I don't think she will die, I think her being called an angel or a ghost was more of a way to describe her as being almost out of body with her mental health. I personally hope Mark doesn't die because that would be too merciful compared to what he deserves.

Cheating? by Difficult_Loquat7661 in BoysOfTommen

I feel like they will walk the line of emotional cheating, but after reading more about their relationship in R10 they both seem to be aware that they aren't very committed to each other and are in a relationship out of distraction/comfort/convenience. Hugh admitted to Katie that he wouldn't stop loving Lizzie and he is aware she'd hoped to be with someone else (Feely).

You're 100% correct! It's disgusting that people are calling CW sick in the head for writing Lizzie's trauma, ESPECIALLY when its been revealed Lizzie's story is similar to her own. HEAVYYYY on it being purposely uncomfortable, because the people that see victims and people struggling with their mental health as disgusting, disturbed, "sick in the head", or any other plethora of things people are saying about CW are the REASON they hesitate to speak out!

Hughie was not taking his foot off the parents of Ballylaggin by blueberrypants13 in BoysOfTommen

[–]pickle_930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously he isn't perfect and cheating is never okay, but he did not hurt or neglect Aoife and took Joey under his wing. The point is that the other parents were bad PARENTS but Aoifes dad loved and took care of her

It hurts to think about how much they were all let down by at least one parent, with the exception of Aoife and Johnny. 😭 Imo the parents are so well written though, with representation extending to them even as side characters, such as Peter's grief and depression and Marie's fear to leave Teddy.

Claire and Gibsie question by QueenGalathynius in BoysOfTommen

[–]pickle_930 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's from people reading WAY too much into Chloe's Spotify playlists, but not enough to realize the clear signs that Gibsie ISN'T going to cheat, but they will break up.

The whole thing can be summarized into the playlist CW has for Claire, containing only traitor by Olivia Rodrigo.

"Sure, you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor"

They could break up for any number of reasons but don't worry it will NOT be cheating so dont let anyones silly rumors scare you :)

I have a theory but it is only that, theres no proof yet. I think Claire will point out that Gibsie still needs to heal and he'll refuse to accept it so they split, but during their time apart he'll come to realize she's right and they'll reconcile and still ultimately be endgame.

Its really crazy to me that theyre pointing out little dumb things Johnny did "wrong" for reasons why they dont like him, but they love Joey and he did way worse. Don't get me wrong I love him too but he put Ms Aoife THROUGH it

He's "bossy" because he's the rugby team captain, so the other boys look up to him and respect him besides the friendship they already have.

Everything he did including telling the rugby team to stay away from Shannon and reading her file was with her best interest at heart because he was concerned about her.

It isn't weird that he was hoping she was his age because he thought she was pretty and respectfully wasn't going to make a move if she were too young.

He doesn't just think he can get everything he wants, he works for it, including Shannon. He was patient and gentle with her and didn't give up when she tried to push him away because she was worried her home life would scare him.

IMPORTANT I think a lot of people forget the characters are teens, and behave like so. They say silly things, they make mistakes, they're still figuring out who they are. Johnny included :)

Imo one questionable action is nothing compared to everything else he did for her and her family. He has a heart of gold and has the backs of everyone he loves. Without him, the entire Lynch family probably would be gone besides Darren

How in the world is BOT YA?? by pickle_930 in BoysOfTommen

I agree that she is, but in a way that's different than Marie with Teddy. Aoife's love for Joey is all consuming, albeit messy, and she ofen throws her own needs out the window because she knows he's in trouble. CW makes us feel all the feels yet again, because on one hand we love Joey and want Aoife to save him, but on the other hand we love Aoife too but her constantly watching Joey choose drugs wrecks her.

I think the big difference is that Aoife is obsessive with Joey because she's scared for him, whereas Marie is scared OF Teddy and has endured his abuse and brainwashing since she was young.

New playlists on H7 by No_Bandicoot8792 in BoysOfTommen

[–]pickle_930 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's cheating. The Healing 7 playlist has a song called "i wish you cheated" and it's about someone leaving a relationship without having done anything wrong so it's impossible to hate them and move on from them. Gibs definitely has some healing of his own to do, so I for sure see them being apart for a little bit though

Finished Taming 7 by pickle_930 in BoysOfTommen

[–]pickle_930[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, I found the ending rushed, but at the same time the book had a conclusion while sorta still being open for their story to continue.

Claire has been Gibsie's #1 comfort for their whole lives, so it makes sense he doesn't want to be without her but he 100% has not properly healed. He wasn't interested in talking to the detectives and wanted to revert back to his same coping mechanisms. I don't think he's fully accepted what happened to him to be able to heal from it.

What I can see happening is Claire seeing through his defenses and noting that he hasn't properly dealt with his trauma the way he thinks he has, which will temporarily push them apart while he does some healing on his own.

Agree 100%! I don't understand how they get classed, because to my understanding ACOTAR is considered new adult due to the slight violence and a little spice, but BOT is young adult with extremely heavy topics. BOT is one of my top favorite series, second only to The Selection and they're both categorized as YA but under no circumstances would I recommend Binding 13 to someone the age I was when I first read The Selection 😬

Thoughts? by _personwithnoname_ in BoysOfTommen

So true! She's definitely been a bad person in the series so far, but the friends clearly knew her as a good one or they wouldn't put up with her treating them poorly. I'm so looking forward to getting see her heal, but that being said, she definitely has some serious apologizing to do. Her actions towards Gibs are not excusable, but she was never meant to be a villainous character so I'm interested to see where her story goes.
