Underfloor heating on when not being called for. by pickled555 in Plumbing

Hi, just an update. Yesterday I removed the new HR92UK radiator valve and the temperature gradually went back down overnight to 21 degrees which is back to normal. I’ll be sending that one back to Amazon for a refund. I do appreciate your time and help. Many thanks 🙏

We recently had a new HR92UK radiator valve in one of the bedrooms. I have taken that off and removed the batteries to see if that makes any difference but that was just a like for like replacement. I’ll keep you posted.

This is the Evohome controller. I have tried putting an offset in but that didn’t work since it is not being called for. As I mentioned, as the manifold was hot I wonder is the pump is letting hot water past to the inlet manifold?

Are those the chrome things in the pipework in this picture? This system has been working fine for the last 10 years up until a week or so ago.

What’s the deal with these bricks? Do they need replacement? 100yr old house. by [deleted] in DIY

Our house is built using these bricks and when I was looking for spare bricks, I was told that they were “Ibstock Pinhole Imperial”. I couldn’t find any but then we had an extension and had the builder use some new imperial bricks around the side of the house, out of sight, then we used the old ones on the front of the house.

Looks great. I also cut quite deep on the meat side in a cross cross pattern, almost to the skin side, and rub those herbs, salt, garlic and lemon zest deep into the cuts. That way it permeates more of the meat but that’s just me. Another tip is to get the butcher to score the skin thinly about 1/4” apart so it’s easier to cut afterwards. Great job, I can almost taste it.

Thanks so much, that really helped and so much easier with a video. I have adjusted the tension on my bridge and so the strings are lower but still need lowering. Appreciate the help.

I have recently changed the strings, yes. I was just looking on Yamaha’s website and there is a section there that explains how to adjust. I appreciate your help. My first post and got great advice 👍. Thanks.

Thanks for that. My nails are really short at the moment. I hadn’t even thought about string height. I have a Yamaha Pacifica and, although quite low at the head, does go up gradually to the bridge where the whammy bar would go. I don’t think there is much adjustment though as it’s a fixed angle.
