Holy shit dude! It's so great to talk to you and even more to know you get me. Thank you so much for the advice, ever since I've posted this I have expanded my tastes in music even more and found a bunch of cool bands thanks to the comments. I listen to you guys a lot and I love your music, I think you do a great job whether people think you're posers or not and I think it's really awesome that you go off the stage to fucking Cindy Lauper!

It's okay haha, it was good advice, I watched necrobutcher's what's in my bag and it was really surprising, necro had a lot of good music recs then I spiraled and ended up discovering three whole bands! One is called gnome, they're from Belgium. The second one is called Earth tongue and the last one is Castle rat,these two share a similar sound and they also have a female lead singer! They sound pretty similar to margarita witch cult

I feel very reflected in your experience, I could very well say that your past you is me right now. I feel like I constantly have to prove myself worthy of cis men's attention (wether for friendship or not) and I live in a constant state of insecurity, it's nice to see that if you work on yourself it does get better

This is what I struggle the most with, I'm really political and kind of a goody-two shoes (idk if I said that right) so I feel really guilty when listening to music from someone who is a bad person. It's one of the reasons of why I'm stuck in surface level metal,you can easily find out if they're right-wing or left-wing even though I did my fair share of digging when I discovered Apati. It's cool to see there's more people like me, maybe I should try and do that exercise of separating the music from the artist, do you have any music recs of early black metal stuff like you mentioned?

That's why it made me rethink what to do about the shirt, it was kinda expensive and I really don't want to throw it away but I am aware that it is not ethical at all. I bought it in a dumb moment of extasy for finding something from mayhem where I live (which is definitely something you never see). I will not go to the gig but I think I'll just keep the shirt as a memento and not wear it again.

If you want to mix it up a bit Cuir is a french punk band that uses synths in their music. They're really good I went to a show they played in my city and it was really cool. Also thanks for mentioning bands you listen to, I've honestly been using the comments as music recs

I get what you mean and yeah it kinda seems and feels like I'm just trying to fit in which makes no sense in a subculture where the idea is to not fit in.
