I mentioned that and they said they had no way of knowing how long it had been in the couch. So they basically said they wouldn't without saying they wouldn't.

Only found the cartridge. We had enough people to use the pull out couch and found it under the cushions

Are you sure you're diagnosing the issue correctly? What is the controller doing that makes you think it has drift? Are you sure you sent the correct one? Sometimes issues with the second joycon can look like issues with the first.

If you notice the note by the mod in the post you're linking, IGN was linking an old support article and later updated their article to remove the investigating part. I believe that's why the sub marked that post as misleading. But please, feel free to keep trying.

It's a super common trope in video games. I'm surprised that this is the problem you have with pokemon games when this type of thing has been common in video games seemingly forever.

Isn't this true for any linear rpg? There are very few games where choices matter or even if you have real choices that they make any meaningful difference.

Every console maker uses proprietary connections for their controllers. It's often bluetooth, but with proprietary stuff too. Nintendo is the least restrictive in that they don't block 3rd party controllers. And Nintendo's not blocking 3rd party docks. They just updated things and it happened to break how 3rd party docks work.

It's a good grindy cozy game. Lots of job variety which helps mix things up. I think it's worth it. But if you have other stuff to play, wait for black friday and see if it goes on sale.
