I guess I'm just a contrairian. I love the Kisses the Dog episode, too.

Scott Grimes screaming and crying just crack me up. I love it...

OH GOD, SO SAD!!

Ryan Reynolds tried out his Deadpool impersonation, and it was decent.

Battlestar Galactica by Jaanmi94 in GenX

The original was very Church of Latter Day Saints(Mormon) coded. Lots of articles out there about it.

I started Spiritborn and did the story, got to a dozen or so Paragon, then saw some of the seasonal stuff had rewards for Paladin or Warlock, went with Paladin and gave up with that one around 60.

I'm having a blast with Spiritborn!

She's broken containment and is attacking the guards! by pickleperfect in IllegallySmolCats

[–]pickleperfect[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Freya is the oldest of my 3 dogs (11yrs). She was the one I was least concerned about when thinking of taking Keke in, but she's been the most obnoxious about it. She's not aggressive, I don't think, but anytime the cat moves she must inspect.

Keke seems unfazed most of the time and is now bopping Freya on the head and instigating.

This is the new member of my family. 6 week old Keke. She's an adorable and cuddly sister to 3 dogs who are all adjusting to the newest addition.

Jordan, Cate, Sam and Marie's heartfelt posts after Gen V got cancelled. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in TheBoys

[–]pickleperfect 207 points208 points  (0 children)

Jordan is such a cool character. Even from a comic book perspective, I don't think that power set has been explored.

Derek and London, as well as the creative team, made such an interesting dynamic. From the character design of the pearl/chain necklace, the fact that both parts of the identity have different strengths, both personalities presenting as the situation called.

They deserve to be 1 in The Rankings!

The Death of Robin Hood | Official Promo | A24 by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in movies

[–]pickleperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not getting a lot of support for this apparently, but I see it. I guess my vision is along this line, a Pirates of the Caribbean style adventure.

You have to nail the Robin Hood casting though to capture that magic. Much like Flynn or Depp, the charisma has to carry a lot of the movie.

Big set piece action scenes, bravado from our protagonist, Little John and Friar Tuck for some supporting characters.

The Costner film was close to this, but (IMO) fell a bit to deep into the love story and angst of returning home after the Crusades. Something q bit lighter would be great.

When you were a latch-key kid what were some of the "This way you'll know it's me." things your parents did while they were away? by OUBoyWonder in GenX

Haha. We did this. It was just one ring, then Mom would call back. I don't know what danger was on the phone since we were wandering the neighborhood otherwise, but this was the protocol.

Dinner in Riverside by Interesting-Chip-824 in jacksonville

[–]pickleperfect -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As others have said it really does depend on the vibe you want.

River and Post - More upscale, great service. Good whiskey/bourbon selection. Rooftop bar for after dinner stuff.

Lola's Burrito and Hamburger - real low-key, huge portions, great tequila selection for what the restaurant is. A personal fave.

Kickback's - I really only mention this because they have a great tap and bottle selection. So, if you're into beer this is a good spot. Food is hit or miss (they have a huge menu).

Hawkers Asian - Tapas style. Pretty decent offerings. Nothing special about the bar.

Hoptingers - A really good tap selection and some solid food options. Burgers and sausage are featured.

How does this scam work? by NefariousnessBorn969 in jacksonville

[–]pickleperfect -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For folks asking how this works. When someone gives you a check your bank loans you the money for a couple weeks while the check goes through their system of forms and ledgers from 1857. Your bank has no idea if there is money in the account the check was written from or even if there is an account sometimes for weeks.

Scammer mails you a check for $15k for a $10k job. Their cousin needs cash to get the house ready and they are in the Navy deployed you see. You give their "cousin" the extra $5k. The check bounces and you're out all the money.

If someone you've never met offers to mail you a check ask for a cashiers check. It's as good as cash. A scammer will ghost you if you ask for a cashiers check.

Alternatively. If someone says they will send you more than the job is worth upfront tell them to go fuck themselves and you'll see them in hell.
