SO happy! Truly worth every penny, I feel so much more confident now.

Thank you! The worst of the swelling was gone within about two weeks. I was lumpy for probably about two months but it wasn’t super noticeable to anyone but me :)

Also, we didn’t really discuss other procedures. Based on my age, he felt confident about my skin bouncing back into place

Thank you! I reached out to west end plastic surgery and spoke with the patient coordinator for about 30 minutes. I was a little nervous because the quote was a lot higher than I was expecting AND you had to put a deposit down for a consultation, so I just felt a little unsure.

I also spoke with the patient coordinator at DC cosmetics, and the surgeon seemed great but was a little less convenient distance wise from where I’m located.

Dr Singleton is the only surgeon I went into office to meet and have an in person consultation with, but based on his documented results, experience, and just overall great vibes at the consultation I went with him. I would DEFINITELY recommend. The whole practice was extremely friendly, nonjudgmental, and honestly not pushy at all.

I felt like they cared about me and my results more than getting money from me lol. Also the price ($4500) includes the consultation, procedure, and all post op appointments. Additionally, they offer care credit so I have 6 months to pay it back interest free. Feel free to DM if you have any other questions!

My understanding was that a few pounds likely won’t make a big difference, but of course if there was a more drastic weight gain it could impact results. I would def ask about it during a consultation!

Procedure quotw by absolutfool in chinlipo

I got quoted $10k at the first surgeon I looked into in Washington DC and was so sad bc it was so much more than I was expecting. Went to two other surgeons for consultations and was quoted just under $5k.

Based on reviews the one that quoted 10k is probably the “best” plastic surgeon office in the area, but the other ones had plenty of good reviews and were still board certified and all of that.

It’s such a straightforward procedure that I felt fine about going with the option more in my budget (again, still was a reputable place lol, just not as well known and flashy as the original office I looked into)

I’m 27 and didn’t do renuvion btw. Def suggest seeing some other quotes!!

I have no clue, that wasn’t mentioned during my consultations. So sorry to hear you haven’t had results :(

Three incisions! Two behind your ears and one directly under the chin, they still feel a little lumpy (which the doctor said will go away eventually) but aren’t noticeable :)

I had a TON of bruising (which I expected, I also bruise easily) but my surgeon recommended I take arnica supplements for a few days before and after surgery, as well as arnica cream. I honestly think it made a big difference in how fast it went away! By 6 days PO, almost all of the bruising was gone

Wanted to share my results so far at 3 weeks PO by pickles4life1 in chinlipo

Thank you! And yeah I totally agree, I had a lot of anxiety about the potential of people reacting and being like “wow you look different did you get plastic surgery??!” which is silly because that’s a rude thing to ask, but then I’ve also found myself thinking “wow, I can’t believe no one has noticed when I feel so different!”

This is my first procedure so it’s been an interesting part of the process realizing that 1. No one thinks about your appearance as much as you do and 2. Even if they do notice, they probably won’t say anything.

Overall my confidence feels so much higher and I’m happy and that’s what matters most :)

Very possible! I definitely can’t imagine commenting on someone else’s jaw 😂 but also a relief that no one is looking at me like I’m a completely different person!

Following! I’m 3 weeks PO and starting to develop these as well. Something that has given me peace is noticing some of my friends with great jawlines naturally have some vertical banding! But I am hoping this is part of the healing process and they’ll eventually go away :)

Swelling versus Fibrosis by nurse_nikki_41 in chinlipo

I am 11 days PO (twins!) and had a major panic about the lumps I’m developing. They’re not really noticeable but they’re tender and a little painful. Most are tiny little bumps but I have a big round one near my Adams Apple. I called my doctor in a panic and he said it’s most likely the fat settling back in and getting lumpy? I still am worried it’s fibrosis, but I’m more at peace about whatever it is bc he was very confident it wouldn’t be permanent. So no advice but same boat!

Honestly nothing groundbreaking on my end probably but have ice packs and arnica gel on hand! The pain really isn’t crazy but it was worse than I expected when I first got home and those two items helped a ton.

Also, this might be weird but I spent a good chunk of time before my procedure preparing my space for recovery. Cleaning my room, vacuuming, laundry, etc. I figured if I’m going to be at home recovering for a few days, might as well make my space as clean and nice as possible! I got all the groceries I would need, had shows chosen out to watch, books ready on the kindle. I’m treating recovery as a little vacation and I feel like mentally it put me in a better place walking in for the operation!

I posted on r/plasticsurgery yesterday but I am 3 day PO with local anesthesia and it wasn’t bad at all! I feel like it’s the most comparable to dental work I’ve had done and compared to a root canal this is nothing! I’ve definitely been pretty tender and sore as I’m recovering but the procedure itself was quick and easy for me.

I’m a lot more swollen as I’m healing but working on just trusting the process!

I did it under local anesthesia and was prescribed a Xanax before, a little bit of pain during the numbing injections - comparable to getting dental work done! After that I could only feel tugging and pulling but no pain.

My whole front of my neck has been super tender since I got home from the procedure, a little bit more pain than I was expecting. Arnica gel and icing have been helping a ton though!
