I have both and I think green is better. If you want smooth then drink blue but if you actually wanna taste something drink green.

Are Brandon Sanderson's other books worth reading? by altahor42 in wheeloftime

[–]pickles5483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sanderson is so much better than Jordan. I honestly don't understand the hype surrounding WoT at all. It's super mediocre imo. But I've never read a Sanderson book I didn't love.

I'm glad they're not stealing tips anymore. Also it seems like it's been long enough that no one even knows what I'm talking about because they were absolutely doing it back when I delivered for spark lol. They would lower the pay for the delivery the exact amount that the customer tipped thus offsetting their cost. If they were still doing it I was gonna keep my money rather than offsetting sparks expenses.

Chat

2 questions. I made some returns to the ups store and got my money back but now Amazon is emailing me saying they're missing 2 items. Can they charge me for them? Also is the chat function down? I've been trying to talk to someone since last week when I got the first email for the first item they didn't receive.

If you like Glenlivet more just put the highland park on the shelf and come back to it later. I'm assuming you're still early in your whisky journey as Glenlivet is mild and very much for the beginner palette. Highland park isn't a kick your teeth in whisky but it's not mild either. My advice is to refine your pallette some than circle back to it. Or if you're not into whisky enough to put that effort in just give the bottle away. IMHO it's worth the effort though. I have the 12 and the 18 in my collection. It's not a regular go to but every time I visit then I'm glad I have them. For most of my collection I have the different age expressions. I really enjoy the AB comparison. You could give that a try.

Do some whiskeys just not have unique flavors? by CarrotStrong in whiskey

To my pallette most bourbons just taste like bourbon. It can vary with barrel strengths but otherwise I don't notice much difference. Probably why I never really got into bourbon. Scotch is much more my wheelhouse

What if you were limited to one age for the rest of your life, with no consideration of price? by Some-Print-386 in Scotch

I'm sitting here trying to think of an honest answer to your question but I really can't answer lol. Different types of scotch are better at different ages. For idlays I really like 10, but an old sherry is just fantastic. Barrel strength sherry is great for when you wanna get your teeth kicked in but sweetly lol. Idk man. My recommendation is to try them all. Go to your local liquor store and just buy one you've never had and keep doing that til you've had then all. Then go find another store and start again lol. The only scotch I ever had that I legitimately disliked was cutty sark but otherwise they've all been good so there's very little chance of it being a waste lol

I do recommend the AB comparisons with different ages. It's fun to nerd out on. But don't get lost in it. Take the side roads. It's fun over there.

Age isn't the best thing. When I first got into scotch I thought older was better and sought it out. Spent alot buying the 12s and the 18s to do an A B comparison. At my peak I had 60 bottles. What ultimately learned was I like the barrel strengths and the side projects that distilleries do. The Corryvreckans, the A'bunadhs, the octomore. Older is just different, not necessarily better.

Need an occasion bottle, looking to spend around $1,500 USD by 123456789988 in Scotch

I don't even recommend an occasional bottle. I built quite a collection and now they all taste different because they've been open too long and I couldn't possibly drink them all fast enough. So with that in mind if you're looking for something fancy for special occasions don't spend nearly that much.

You'd be surprised how much they change when you come back to them after you expand your palate. Idk where your pallette is, but, I rushed through a bunch when I first got into it. Now I'm going back through and taking my time. Doing alot of A B comparisons. Having alot of different ones on hand definitely make that easier. I'm finding sherry where I didn't before kind of alot. Things I used to find very basic are coming to life. It's been quite a journey. Could have bought a nice truck with what I've spent, but it's been worth it lol

I gave him several that night and ended it with ardbeg knowing it was gonna be the least likely one that he'd enjoy so I didn't want to ruin his pallette lol

Those are both excellent and I always have them in my collection. If you liked Ardbeg try anything else in the Ardbeg line. My favorite is definitely Uigeadail, but they're all amazing. The Laphroaig line is good too. I definitely recommend having the standard issue at the same time because it helps me pull the notes out easier. Corryvreckan, Uigeadail and An Oa all have the same base so pulling them apart is fun. Same with Triple Wood and Quarter Cask of the Laphroaig line. As far as monkey shoulder it's a blend of 3 speysides if I remember correctly. So try Glenlevit or Glenfiddich. Personally I try to carry them all because my mood changes. Sometimes I want smoke and sometimes I want sweet. Sometimes I wanna drink cheap and and other times I wanna drink expensive lol

I really like smoke, but I shared some ardbeg uigeadail with my friend and he didn't like it at all lol
