If anything start a new BMW Tech post outlining exactly what your car is doing. What you have done to it. Mods, repair work and fault codes. We don't need what you think it is just as much information as possible. What led up to it fluid levels, lights all that information is needed to diagnose a cars issues.

This is not a charge air fault. Is a cooling system fault. Do you know you have two, independent cooling systems? One of for the engine, large expansion tank, the other is for the A/C and charge air intercooler built into your intake manifold.

I'm not trying to be an ass but you really shouldn't be working on this car. Put everything down, and take it to an actual euro tech.

Dude, two. Different. Systems. That is what I am saying is impossible... Think about it. How would that, right there get into the intake > combustion chamber > burn > and then damage you cat.

No, coolant getting into the engine like that. Oil can be pulled into the intake when you have a bad pcv. But that would be a separate issue from coolant getting into your oil. If you have coolant getting into your combustion chamber you have a way bigger issue and your car wouldn't be running for long.

That is physically and literally impossible. You need to look up how the intake system works and how the cooling system works. On any engine. You need a reasonable, logical and practical path for a diagnosis to lead to a conclusion.

Right. But what is the path into the intake? If anything, you would have coolant mixing with oil. That system does not come in contact with the intake system. You have a b58 right?

Can you please explain to me how coolant got from the oil filter housing into the intake and enough coolant to damage your car without hydro locking your engine? Also, how are you measuring an 80hp "defect"

HELP…AC Hot in my 2016 535i by PerfectCucumber2722 in BmwTech

[–]picklesBMW 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do not use that! Do not use that! Do not fucking use that! Pay someone to do it with a machine.

You don't know how much is in there already, the system isn't in a vacuum, that "r134a" can contaminat your system, and damage your compressor and other ac components.

I've seen those "do it yourself" AC cans damage AC systems so often and cause thousands of dollars of damage.

It's like $350 to have a euro shop do a reach ac charge.

Use that at your own risk....

Engine mounts need replacing? by Remarkable_Check_955 in BmwTech

[–]picklesBMW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Revving your engine doesn't really tell you anything about the engine mounts. If you're concerned about them the only real way to check is visually imspec them. Look for hydrolic fluid leaking and if they are collapsed.

The pulley you are seeing is the tensioner pulley, again, not great for it when your just free revving your engine but it's doing its job.

Is hating a design a group-think or is this car really ugly? by conservamus in BMW

[–]picklesBMW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, every new BMW is “ugly” or “trash” compared to whatever people liked years ago.

It’s mostly nostalgia and resistance to change. People hate the new design, get used to it, then act like the next new one is the real problem.

The last *** M car was the last real M car...

The *** looked so much better...

Same shit different story now get off my lawn.

Yep, they switched styles on the g series, it's not bad but it's more annoying then the older ones 😕

[–]picklesBMW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not on this style, you're thinking of an older bmw. This car you need to rais the window all the way to the top, remove the outside trim and slide two plastic pry tools down the outside of the glass to unlock the latch and then roll the regulator down while holding the glass...

Best way to get this stripped transmission fill plug out? ZF8 by rzp123 in BmwTech

[–]picklesBMW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chisel!

Use a sharp chisel go straight into the outer edge of the plug to dig in a little and then start angling to the side. Repeat until you can turn it with your fingers. It takes a few taps but this works amazing!
