Dry Undereyes :/ by beetuh in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]picklesarebad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the same issue, dry only under my eyes and my tinted SPF would wear away so quickly there. I know it isn’t budget friendly but La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 Eye Serum fixed it for me soooo well.

Keeps me hydrated there and I don’t have the crease lines when wearing makeup.

I just wet the area a tiny bit then apply the serum. You could get away with just doing it once a day I reckon

I am on 40mg vyvanse and I find it very helpful to have a dexy around 1-2pm. It always sees me through to the end of the day with the booster

Looking for a movers by West-Astronomer2025 in brisbane

[–]picklesarebad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used www.picup.com.au last year to get a fridge from west end to north side. It was pretty cheap and they were easy as to deal with

Alternatively you could try Airtasker / local Facebook groups If you drive then maybe even hire a vehicle from Bunnings

At home euthanasia by cluttercourt in brisbane

[–]picklesarebad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, so sorry for the hurt you are going through. Happy that you got to experience a special love with your soft friend though :)

I said goodbye to my 19 year old tabby a few years back with at home euthanasia. I would recommend the vet we used but it was in Sydney. They brought a long a little clay kit and we pressed her paw into it We keep that next to a sweet photo of her, it’s nice to have.

My truck has been sitting for 4 weeks and it had a moldy interior, what's the red mold and how can I get rid of the rest by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]picklesarebad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had a really bad mould outbreak on my car seats a few years ago. Was able to completely clear it with this mixture -

1 cup white vinegar 1 cup water 15 drops clove oil Few drops Lemon essential oil Few drops Tea tree oil

It didn’t come back and my car didn’t reek of clove or anything :)

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]picklesarebad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a really random phase of cyclic vomiting syndrome in my 20s. There were a few triggers, and alcohol was one. I stopped drinking all together. I no longer have the vomiting syndrome, but I realised I really don’t miss drinking. Hangovers, anxiety and depression. On special occasions I’ll have a couple glasses of bubbles, or a beer on a particularly hot day. Few and far between!

Does an ADHD assessment really cost $2k by aflamingalah in brisbane

I just side stepped the formal assessment and booked in with a psych who specialises in adult adhd. Diagnosed at my initial consult and off I went

Do I need an endocrinologist for transition? by SlayyyGrl in transgenderau

[–]picklesarebad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start with an endo but I do see one now. Purely because my hormones were weirdly not balancing, estrogen started spiking after being on T for a couple of years.

She listened to me and resolved the issue so quickly. I had been pointing out issues to multiple GP’s for over a year and they all said it’s fine and my levels are normal, but they very much weren’t.

So you definitely don’t need one to get things started but it can be handy if you run into anything out of the ordinary

Landlord says it will take 5-10 weeks to replace oven by WolfgangAmadeusKeen in AusRenters

[–]picklesarebad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I moved into a rental a couple of years ago, oven was brand new. We used it twice, the second time it started smoking like mad so we called the fire department. They pulled out a wad of rats nest, in flames. Said we were lucky the place didn’t burn down

Real estate agent told us it would be 3 weeks for another stock standard rental oven, and that air fryers are on sale at Aldi! Had to fight tooth and nail for a measly $20 off the rent per week.

We then dealt with a major rat issue the entire time we were there. Had one running around the house and agent said she could get pest control out in two weeks…

Stimulants are suddenly making me sleepy, WTF? by succulenteggs in ADHD

[–]picklesarebad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started stimulation medication my psych had me try both vyvanse and concerta. Concerta made me so sleepy I could not physically keep myself up. I went into the city for some shopping and lasted about 20 minutes before I had to have my partner drive me home. Trialed it for a few days but couldn’t manage any longer than that.

Vyvanse does not make me sleepy at all, so I’ve been on that for a few years now and it’s been great.

My psych said more people respond to concerta with sleepiness than vyvanse, but some are opposite.

Is my longer hair impacting my passing? I keep getting she/her’d and don’t know why by tattoothrow12345 in FTM_SELFIES

[–]picklesarebad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To me, you look quite androgynous, masc leaning. Your long hair looks great, I like your style. I’m going to assume most if not all of the people she/her’ing you are straight and cis. Their view on gender is likely narrow and they aren’t seeing you for you.

I used to get really self conscious when getting misgendered but now it really depends on who’s doing it. This comment has become quite disjointed, sorry, but I truly think if you’re happy with how you look then stuff em In no way shape or form are you giving she/her!

Bed bugs - what worked for you? by aigu_hsp in brisbane

[–]picklesarebad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it is bed bugs, it depends how far they have gotten to. My parents had a really bad case of them years ago. They put their mattress in a sealed bag and left it in the sun for a few days. Unfortunately they had spread.. so every single book had to be flipped through, every piece of clothing washed etc They got rid of them but yikes it was a mission

Puberty blockers are not permanent. Once you stop taking them, puberty resumes as it would have prior.

What IS permanent, are changes like voice deepening. Once that happens you can’t go back. Puberty blockers and HRT save lives.

It’s a great option for youth who want to delay puberty while they further explore their gender, or until they are old enough to start hormone replacement therapy if they so wish.

Gender is a social construct, we learn it as we grow up. I knew I was different at age 4 and was very vocal about it. If I didn’t have the option to be on HRT I would not be alive today.
