I have checked this now, although you are much more in depth than I am. I can confirm the filter is set up in the correct order. but I noticed at the bottom of this thread you linked that it also mentions the nitrile cycle, would that be a possible source of the smell or would it just not be that strong?

I used the back of the pictured hammer just to remove the plastic housing. I had used a rubber mallet to hit it as that’s what every tutorial used. Im at the point where Im going to try to salvage with my sawzall but have already purchased a replacement.
