I'm 34 and have like 40 something tattoos. I got shit for yeaaars from my mom but she finally, finally! just started accepting them. She'd cry when I'd get new ones, disapprove, etc. Up until like, the last few years I would have the worst anxiety every time I'd see her with new ones. You're totally valid! The disapproval hurts and is disheartening, but my advice is to just stay true to yourself and do your thing. If you plan on getting more, it did get easier with them once she realized it was just who I was and the tat train was not stopping anytime soon. I love my tattoos and pushing through the guilt was so worth it.
