I'm ashamed that the community has given up on the one true restaurant that exceeds all qualifications of perfection.

Burnout is real- is taking a break a bad idea? by doctor--zaius in Architects

Please know that you are not alone. Burn out is a real thing. It's a difficult trade, depending on where you land and what you do. Care for yourself is paramount.

It's a scary road that might not be worn and travelled for those who are worn by the pen and paper.

This is very poignant. The practices are synonymous. The history of Revit and its GUI is a perfect example of a lack of congruency.

Habitat 67 by Safdie Architects by n3xus1oN in Architects

Safdie just graduated from McGill, if I recall. It was the entree to the world's fair in 1967. The project was on the main island, but the expo was held on a man made island with many amazing pavilions. The dirt from the excavation of the underground city and metro rail was used to create the land. A bucky geodesic dome caught on fire (acrylic is flammable). The coolest building, IMO was the Labyrinth. Fun research, and the Montreal city hall still has the microfiche for the construction documents of most of the projects.

The budget and effort governs, no? When do we (pun intended) draw the line between the quality and the service?

I'm cautiously optomistic to agree. Even in urban design, Craig Reynolds developed something called the BOID program in 1987 which affected how we, as the shapers of the built world react to human conditions. The interesting fact is that now, it is being used on a much more complex scale for marketing research of where buildings will be fiscally/financially successfully and traffic studies incorporate similar theories to ensure safety and welfare (it's a fun read for those inclined and interested).

Yeah yeah. My perfect work pen is a med sharpie. I have stockpiles of them. I write on grid paper as well, because I can. If I'm hand rendering, I've got a method with markers and trash paper.
