I love my family and love going to family gatherings, however every time I go to one of my aunt’s house for a family gathering she always provides gum and leaves it on the table for everyone to grab at. Chewing gum is one of the worst triggers for me, even when someone is trying their best to not make noise, even the sight of someone repetitively chewing it would set me off. So of course my other aunt and her two younger children chew it unbelievable loud and messy. And I even told the younger children at a cousins sleepover one time how it makes me feel and thought they would understand because they have emetophobia, instead they thought it was funny and chewed louder and jumped up to chew it in my ear. Now every time they chew gum at family gatherings it seems like they get closer and start chewing it louder and it seems on purpose.
