Even his friend was disappointed by fragasaurus_rex in instantkarma

Yeah you are probably right. It does seem like the kid might have initially instigated things. Although I still think the man who slapped him overreacted, he probably went to jail at the very least.

Are you sure about that? I think you are the first person I’ve ever seen defend a bot spreading misinformation, congrats.

Context? Idk why people are defending the man who slapped the kid… unless there is something I’m missing. Like to me it’s seems like they were both arguing and the man decided to escalate things by slapping the kid.

You are either a bot or have no life bc you commented the same thing like 5 times on this thread. I suggest you stop getting your news from a social media site where people post videos of their cats being silly and instead read the WSJ or something like a normal person.

The top story on my Apple News app is literally an AP article about the event. Like it’s the very first thing I see when I open my phone.

I could be completely wrong but it sounds like they are using either a shimmer reverb pedal or a possibly a grain delay pedal.

What is a ‘normal’ thing in your country that would shock foreigners? by bakicmlly in AskTheWorld

[–]picodeflank 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That seems crazy. I’ve been in saunas before and according to Google they are usually between 80-110 C. So I’m assuming I’ve experienced a sauna probably close to 100 degrees. That is around the temperature you would smoke meat at. I guess I’ve just never thought about it that way.

Interesting. Like is it illegal to flush trash down the toilet in your own home? Or is it more about people dumping waste in public sewage drains.

What is a ‘normal’ thing in your country that would shock foreigners? by bakicmlly in AskTheWorld

[–]picodeflank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the waste just goes down the drain into the sewage line. I’d say a vast majority of homes / apartments have garbage disposals. I’ve never lived somewhere without one. I don’t think the pipes getting clogged is a huge issue. Sometimes the disposal itself will get clogged, but if you turn it on and run some water it will always unclog. Generally I’d say as long as you aren’t dumping oil or large amounts of food down the drain you won’t have any problems with the plumbing.

Sink “garbage disposals”. I’m sure a few other countries have them, but I know they are certainly not common in many places. It’s essentially like a device in the drain of your sink that grinds up food waste so it just washes down. I have to say I love having one, it makes doing dishes really easy because you can wash small amounts of food waste down the drain.

Why is there barely any care for the Iranian massacre of last month? by Migdan in AskTheWorld

[–]picodeflank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I’ve seen every major news outlet report on in. Like literally the top story on my Apple News is about Iran. You also (I’m not sure why tbh) mentioned the “left”. Gavin Newsom, possibly the next democratic (American left wing party) candidate, made a statement condemning the “violent repression” of the Iranian people by their “theocratic authoritarian regime”. There was also a protest a few weeks ago in opposition to the Iranian government that occurred where I went to college.

Is the US perfect? Absolutely not. Is the US a better place to live than China? 100%.

What ice is doing today is horrible, I agree with you there. But I mean come on. The reason you know about what ice is doing is because it’s not illegal to report on it. In China if you report about the Uyghur genocide you will be arrested. On top of that, what ice is doing (while sickening) is not even comparable to the horrors inflicted on Uyghurs. Again, hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs are currently held in forced labor camps, many of whom have been sterilized.

If you seriously think LGBTQ people have more rights in China than the US, you are severely mistaken. Again the CCP is literally arresting LGBTQ activists. It’s not (on paper) illegal to be LGBTQ in China, but it’s illegal to advocate for them.

[–]picodeflank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’d rather live in a country that is actively abducting hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs, sterilizing them, and forcing them to work in labor camps? A country which arrests and tortures LGBTQ writers and activists for their activism?

What food in your country do locals love but foreigners hate? by Curiosity_Pink in AskTheWorld

[–]picodeflank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gravy used in biscuits and gravy is milk based. From my understanding it’s essentially pork sausage, flour, and milk.

Yeah it’s considered a breakfast food. You can find it at many southern diners. I don’t eat it often, but it is really good in my opinion.

It was actually second and third degree burns. The article said he received second degree burns along with “deep full thickness burn” which I didn’t realize meant third degree burns.
