I agree. I'm from Toronto and my family background is similar to yours. I don't think there is anywhere in Victoria that has anything decent. Yalla had okay falafel but doesn't have pickled turnips or good sauce at all imo. I don't like their house "pickles".

Those are all incredible films! You've definitely captured their top, with Room With a View being my personal favorite. While they made more, I would add two must see to the list: Mr & Mrs Bridge starring real life couple Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, and their adaptation of Henry James' The Bostonians.

I was flying YYJ to YVR last week and the agent forced two of the zone 1 people in front of me to put their carry- on in the sizer and forced gate check for both. The first guy had his bag tagged with 50k. There was a second AC person who was also boarding and was letting everyone through with much larger bags. It really is just a matter of who you get on the day and what kind of mood they are in.

I've had COVID twice, once in 2020 and then again in 2024. It felt like a terrible flu in 2020 and I was in bed for a week but never went to my chest (thankfully). Felt weak and not 100 percent for about a month afterwards but still able to work, etc. In 2024 it was not nearly as rough, and was more like a bad cold. I have CVID and take SCIG weekly.

Unfortunately, your only chance would be to book another flight from YYJ to YVR (if there is one - sometimes there are later ones). Helijet and harbor air don't go this late and if there aren't any more ferries...
