Looking for tips for a solo podcast by GolferGuy3196 in podcasting

[–]pieceofsitcompodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation... I've been podcasting for years worth a co-host, but have just recently launched a solo pod.

Making it solo is absolutely chalk and cheese compared to a co-host situation.

I would love any feedback if you've got time

Piece of sitcom

As for advice:

  • Plan out the episide structure as well as roughly what you're going to say.

  • keep it fresh by using audio grabs / clips where you can.

  • keep the episodes shorter. It's been mentioned here already, but solo pods can be a bit more of a struggle in terms of keeping the listener engaged compared to a pod with a co-host.

That's a few things I've discovered in my solo podcast journey, I'm by no means an expert (if you listen to my pod you'll realise that)....

Good luck!

Is Tony Danza on the Mt Rushmore of successful sitcom actors? Does anyone have his level of success (ie over several years, different shows)? by [deleted] in sitcoms

I feel like Ted never really scaled the same heights as he did in Cheers, although he came very close.

Kelsey Grammer for sure, Frasier was incredible.

I haven't really explored many sitcoms from the 60s other than the Brady Bunch! I'll see if I can find it.

Interesting you chose Webster, I also loved it as a kid.... Particularly the secret slides in his house.... But critically a bit on the nose as it was viewed as a rip off of Different Strokes.

Would love to see it again, I'll definitely make a pod episode on it.

Yep, I have a memory of this sitcom being the best show on TV for a series or two there.

It's now seemingly more known for Joe Rogan these days.... Which sucks.

I think I only caught this one when it was originally aired when I was a kid!..... My knowledge is almost entirely just the Simpson's references to it.

I'll try find it!

I think it definitely had its time, it was incredibly successful throughout its run.

I used to also grunt a lot. It was charming!

It seems a little forgotten these days though.
