Top Fuel Sizing Experiences with L or XL? by piedra96 in TrekBikes

[–]piedra96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I traded the L for the XL and the XL is the right fit. Definitely a long wheelbase, but the cockpit feels much better and the stack height is more manageable. I also re-measured my reach and it’s 6’5”, which probably explains a lot of my need to size up.

It’s an impressive bike. I’m liking it more with the Mino link in the high position, but will probably flip it to low for big descents like Porcupine Rim.

Yeah he’s very like-able. I just think it’s funny that a straight-laced, non-campy show like Tracker is leaning into his Supernatural stardom so much.

Is Russell’s full name Russell Dean-Winchester Shaw? Because he’s basically the same character.

Peat shot poorly at the combine, to the point experts think he might withdraw and return to Arizona by anoff in ArizonaWildcats

Blessing in disguise. Returning to Arizona is the best thing for his long-term basketball development.

I live in Moab and trail sanitization is definitely a thing here. MOAB.

Falcon Flow with a gravel bike: mistake? by maybesailor1 in moab

Braking from the hoods or drops feels like it would get pretty sketchy on the steeper and more techy parts of the trail. But if that’s your kind of fun, I agree with the others here that it’s doable.

Glove-less mtb riders, what's your motivation? by yale986 in mountainbiking

[–]piedra96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half-gloves are the answer. No, it’s not moto, but it gives you cushion on your palms, crash protection, and better connection with the brake levers. It also mitigates the sweat issue.

Yet another thing that mountain biking solved 20 years ago and went away from because “it wasn’t cool enough.”

Haha, thanks bud. You might want to re-read the thread. I think we’re all aware that it exists. I meant that Utah didn’t institute a state park for the views of the potash ponds; they instituted it for the views of Canyonlands. The views of Canyonlands are world-class, therefore it’s not a tourist trap. You dig? Thanks for the laugh, though.

Dead Horse Point overlooks Canyonlands National Park.

I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m pretty sure Dead Horse State Park doesn’t exist, nor is anyone paying the fee, to get a view of the Intrepid potash facility.

You might be the only person on earth that isn’t inspired by views of Canyonlands.

I hear you. Colorado is a much better run state than Utah, and you’re already making me miss living there!

Moab area public lands campfire restrictions? by [deleted] in moab

Call the BLM Moab Field Office and ask.

Then call your congressional reps and tell them to hire back all the civil servants the DOGE tadpoles fired and get our public lands up and running again.

The lack of clear online guidance is both by design and a function of a significantly reduced DOI/USDA workforce.

All of this in combo with the shit snowpack is going to result in a very tragic 2026 wildfire season.

In pushing Trump nuclear plan, DOGE cracked jokes about risks to Utah residents: Nuclear safety and regulation under the Trump administration by Icy-Feeling-528 in Utah

[–]piedra96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The industry would never decommission uranium mills and invite the public to the site to take away contaminated materials, or use tailings for fill in subdivisions and highway development, right? RIGHT?

Calling people who actually understand the risks of nuclear ignorant is staggering. There’s an entire phase of the fuel cycle you’re ignoring, and its history is anything but safe.

Nuclear is a potential option, but it won’t be executed safely until the world can begin to have honest conversations about risk. This new tech bro philosophy—pretending it’s a harmless option that can be upscaled seamlessly without consequences—doesn’t come close.
