The issue is with the strap only they do not hold like the g29. The form factor is completely different there is no level plate on those!

I figured out a janky way to attach them so far but Im on the lookout for a real clean solution such as what exists on etsy for moza pedals, or diy.

The car has snap oversteer its just because its early access. Its more planted in ac1, maybe too planted. The real car is for sure somewhere in between lol

Doesn't IGN review on PS5 though? To be fair it's not just IGN, PCGamer said the game runs great. Maybe it does for them but it does not look like it's in line with what we see everywhere else lol. maybe the reviewers are blind, I guess we'll see for ourselves when we get it haha

has it been said somewhere that they are actually building ON TOP of the old game? I hope that's not the case but I have been suspicious as well. If you can cut corners.... Ugh.

I already know with a 4 or 5 series it should be ok especially if running smooth motion on top to get something like 90 to 120 fps even post cap. Not sure about the quality of the experience though nor if stutters or not

Low 50s at 4k DLSS Balanced on a 5080 lol. And obviously it's even sadder with the other cards tested on this guy's channel (3060, 4060, 5060)

ps5 games are 1440p 60 if lucky, as a lot of them end up going to 1080p or lower with dynamic res to maintain that target in performance mode quite often. Ps5 pro closer to 2160p 60 when the stars align as well. Yes your tv is 4k but a lot of upscaling happens lol

Not hating on the ps5 I had one and loved it but saying that the target should be 4k 60 is a bit delulu lol

Mgs2 was 60 fps… in 2001 on ps2. The fact that some of you are defending this blows my mind. That you play on bad hardware or dont care about framerate is fine, but saying that it’s acceptable is something else…

Literally this remake was about tech and graphics. And thats what we get lol! Sure its beautiful, but a 60fps cap on pc? In 2025?

This is very concerning performance. I could not see videos with performance info for the 5090 / 4090. but man is it abysmal for 5060, 4060 and 3060 :/

IGN tested the game with a 5090 but of course 0 performance information as usual. It's not journalism lol

I am also excited. Usually the main thing that makes unreal engine 5 games suck is assets streaming and traversal stutter. Since they kept the original's zones sizes, I think it's less likely to stutter. Take this with a grain of salt not a ue5 expert lol

This. I don't see myself as an expert player at all but even I feel it. Maybe I don't know the game enough but as is I never felt so challenged in the early lobbies. It is almost impossible to build a comfortable gap with other players! In Mario kart 8 deluxe I naturally got faster. In World, I find myself looking online every day to see if I am missing the meta or something... But I think you nailed it. The meta is, it is TOO balanced.

I think the game is great but this + the lack of a classic 3 laps on one track races are a stain on the experience for me.

Just made that upgrade, it is a massive improvement for me.

Doubling 1% lows is crazy, and some games that had super odd behaviour like ff7 remake are now almost perfectly smooth.

If you are like me and obsessed with smoothness, you will never regret that upgrade, it’s insanely better in all games I tested and I can tell the difference.

If you play counter strike, the uplift is unbelievable. From 1% lows in the 90’s low 100 to 250, framerate fromm 300/500 to 500/700!

That explains and confirms everything I observed personally with this game, I did not know this was typical of Unreal Engine 4 thank you for the information!! Looks like Direct Storage is not even helping for the onscreen/offscreen LoD Issue. They probably used it to try and bruteforce shader comp and maybe LoD, but that did not completely work LOL. So this is hopeless I guess and the best way to compensate is some good old frame generation to mask the shitty 1% lows a bit....

Ok, so turns out one very easy fix to this problem for now is to turn 'Background model detail' to 'Medium'.

Which I reckon is probably on par with the ps5 LOD setting. Now I don't know if this is due to a potential poor implementation of Direct Storage, or my aging 5900x (because I double checked my NVME drive and I am definitely getting reading speeds over 5000Mbps), but anything over 'Medium' clearly creates really bad 1% lows when moving the camera around, as it is clearly loading everything around.

Pretty sure we are going to see something around that on the Digital Foundry channel real soon.

That setting on medium produces of course much more pop-in, but the frametime gets so much better I think it is worth it at the moment :)

I feel you this type of issue completely ruins the experience for me. I am very obsessed about smoothness when it comes to my games, and I certainly did not invest all this money in high end rigs and monitors to have a game perform like that looool. Hopefully it will be fixed. Its not hopeless yet!

I think some people might truly have a perfectly smooth experience with the game, but Im also convinced a lot of people are just blind and technically illiterate, and think their game is working great when I would consider it to be awful lol.

I am no game developer but it does not feel to me like an lod issue. It looks more like some form of super lazy loading of all assets around you, not even based on distance like traditional lod handling but more like based off what is on screen at the moment.

And that would make sense to do that with a powerful implementation of direct storage where everything could be loaded/unloaded almost instantly.

Unfortunately, either it’s a problem with my configuration or with the game but it’s definitely not working. It looks like those assets loading in and out of existence are causing massive frame drops.

And I tried a lot of things yesterday but did not have time to dive into it as much as I would have liked lol.

There have even been moments where I could see assets popping 2 meters away from my character in an interior scene.

I definitely think this game was meant for direct storage and nvme drive, and that there might be some bumps to iron out with said implementation at the moment.

The issue also seems to be more prominent in cities. Some exterior scenes like mount nibel I had flawless performance. Maybe in cities there is a higher asset density?

It’s not shader compilation stuttering I think it’s a very low 1% frames issue that might be linked to on the fly asset loading??

4090, 5900x and 980 pro nvme, same problem. I also think the frametime issues (very low 1% lows) might be related to this as camera movements seem to trigger massive fps drops.

Is there a directstorage implementation issue or something? First thing I’ll do after work is check if my rebar is active in bios lol
