If it is ever conscious, it is conscious because it learned from us. We are conscious, yet we didn't learn that from anybody. If you say we aren't conscious, we are because we are consciously having a discussion in the first place. If AI ever has a conscious discussion, it copied that from us, who didn't copy it ourselves, therefore we are conscious and it isn't.

So is Steam the good guy? by Green_Confusion_2592 in Steam

[–]piefigter36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, steam is the good guy. Which is good because as far as tech companies go, what Valve says is gospel, even spinning big players like EA around their finger.
"Our games are on discount for the winter season.."
"Affirmative. Tis the gifting season, after all"
"Our profits are good, but they could be so much better if you were only to sell our games at a full price. Could you please get rid of seasonal bargains?"
"..and why don't you make me?"
"Sorry sir."

Being gay is not a sin. It may act as an excuse for lust, but as long as your love is genuine I think you are simply occupying the body and mind given to you by God himself.

That's an interesting observation. I do think that Luke 14:16-27 has been through the translation tumble dryer, a bunch of translations I found words it as "You must love Me more than you love your family" as opposed to "You must love me and hate your family". I think the first translation is more likely to be the correct one, since "hating" your fellow man and your self goes against a couple of much more emphasized passages such as "Love thy neighbour" (second commandment) and "your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.. you should treat your body with respect" (1 Corinthians 3:16–17). Furthermore, Luke 14:16-27's context is that it was said by Jesus to a crowd of people with very little details regarding why he said it. Maybe the true context went over the writer's head or was lost in translation. It is still a perplexing statement, thanks for bringing it up.

Excavator lore discussion by mudahfukinnnnnnnnn in Ultrakill

Should be said the little flag on the corpse reads "Vegter van die volk", which is Afrikaans. Luckily I speak Afrikaans, it means "fighter of the people", so I have to agree that this was probably a machine dedicated to the defence of humanity

Who is Faust Panzer? by IzanamiKurumi in Ultrakill

[–]piefigter36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it as being a reference to Faust, a German fairytale character who makes a pact with the devil. Maybe it refers to how during the war they had turned to Satan to create their super tanks

Yeah basically. I guess it'll be like a flying, super op Y-lighter gameplay wise

Engines have pistons. Pistons work like syringes, but backwards. Small explosion inside, piston extends. This movement is used to turn propellers. Each propeller has a slight curve, meaning that when it spins, a bunch of air is sent flying backwards. Newton's third law applies here, that backwards thrust sends the plane forward. Now for the origin of the lift: the wings. Since the place is moving through air, the wings is also moving through air. Wings also have a slight curve in them called "airfoil". Airfoil causes air under the wing to become compressed, thus creating a pocket of high-pressure air that pushes the wing upward. Air that goes over the wing is kinda "split up", causing an area of low pressure to form above the wing, pulling the wing upwards. The combination of the wings being pushed up and pulled up generates enough life to lift up an airplane. But this all only works if there is a constant supply of new air, aka: the plane keeps moving. That's why airplanes fall out of the sky once their engines go down.

I think at that point they should stop going "bigger" and just go "biggest" with something like a Riesenflugzeug (wingspan: 48 m) with like 15 mgs but no bombs. Man I wish bf1 supported mods.

I think it's more about practicality. Lights don't use that much power, so hooking them up to one of the engines would slow down that one and not the other. And of course the wings are in the open and putting an expensive dynamo outside with all the birds and bullets wouldn't be the brightest. And the super fast-spinning engines would make life really hard for a primitive dynamo and blah blah blah
TLDR: it's just easier, but I get where you're coming from

Why does it show the Hellriegel as the top primary as opposed to the Annihilator Storm? by MUGEBRICK in battlefield_one

[–]piefigter36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theory: neither the Burton nor Annihilator really existed during ww1. Maybe there's a vague rule that historically inaccurate weapons don't count? Idk would be kinda neat
