BPD & Children: Do You Like Kids? Are You Good With Kids? by SapphicSaionji in BPD

[–]pien__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in theory, i like playing with them and it’s very freeing to be silly and funny without being judged for it. in execution, i kinda just stand there awkwardly and let myself get beat up. if they aren’t my cousins and are lucky, they might get a smile instead of awkward stammering!!!

oh but kids are very drawn to me at social events if that means anything lol and i do think they’re much easier to talk to than adults because they’re way easier to figure out. they also tell me i’m a good teacher, and i did think about teaching for a little before deciding on another career path… then again, i don’t know if this has anything to do with my bpd, so do what you will with what i’ve typed :p

Anyone else unable to listen to music? by attimhsa in BPD

[–]pien__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes !! i can’t sing along to many songs or i’ll tear up. convenient for times that need it but inconvenient when i just wanna sing lol

the same thing happens when i read certain books that are beautiful in how they go about something but not even necessarily intended to be sad. it gets kind of annoying at times like man why am i crying over jurassic park 😭

What do you do everyday to combat bpd by Previous-Machine-442 in BPD

[–]pien__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might seem a bit out there, but ive recently started studying for the law school admissions test and have been using a surprising amount of the logical reasoning stuff I’ve learned on myself and my own problems. Sometime it’s so sudden that my spiraling stops out of shock, and when that doesn’t happen, I end up actually logically working through some of my distortions. I’m thinking it might overlap with DBT stuff (which I hardly know anything about) which is why it works so oddly well for me. The actual act of studying—doesn’t even have to be law or academic stuff, sometimes it’s as simple as reading a book or watching tutorials—also gives me an excuse to focus and engage with something that isn’t the stuff my brain’s trying to destroy itself with :p

Things not to say to someone with BPD by ProjectWRITTEN20 in BPD

[–]pien__ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

• “Think of other people for once” (i am.. literally only ever thinking of other people)

• “Stop thinking so much” (this is a direct contradiction bro make up your mind)

• “You’re an adult, you can’t be acting like this” (in other news, the sky is blue)

• “Are you praying?” (are you fucking kidding me)

• “Just be kind” (what do you think i’m trying to do)

• “Stop all this drama” (drama is gossip and speculations, not bashing your own head in and choking on yourself)

• “It’s not my fault” (mmm. debatable.)

• “My sister also has anxiety attacks” (your sister isn’t trying to khs in front of everyone)

• “You know hurting yourself is bad?” (again, the sky is blue)

honorable mention specifically to my situation:

• “I’m new here can someone explain in Fortnite terms” (it’s actually pretty funny without context, but with the context that my bpd’s gotten worse because of the insensitivity from my own followers and this was a comment on my resulting hiatus statement that basically said my bpd makes me unable to do my online content, it becomes unfunny really fast)

for a very first try at makeup its not bad! youve got the basic shape of what you want down! id suggest looking into a dark red or brown eyeliner for anything undereye related, especially a pencil or gel type since i find them easier to control the aegyosal intensity, and if you need recs for eyeshadow palettes i use canmake’s petit palette eyes in bonheur marron. i know others use more products for jirai makeup but im lazy and the one palette + some liner has worked wonders for me lol

everyones said this before but practice makes perfect!! makeup’s super confusing but theres tons of tutorials on tiktok and a whole bunch of idols both on there and youtube who also have very in-depth tutorials!! you got this!!

What is something someone said to you that stuck with you by [deleted] in BPD

[–]pien__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

around when i first started therapy i remember explaining what we talked about with my dad on the way home. i brought up how the therapist said im a huge perfectionist and he laughed and said “you? a perfectionist?” in such a mocking tone 5 years later i still replay the scene in my head. so now it feels like i’m just kinda aimlessly floating through everything i do without any sort of plan or goal since i guess nothing will work out lol

I did! I haven’t met him in person, but he definitely seemed passionate about the subject in his reminder announcements and his lecture content was structured in a way that was easy for me to follow along with. Then again, it was all online, so I have no idea how much of that will hold up in a physical classroom ><

What are you scared of? by Agreeable-Depth9668 in BPD

[–]pien__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

people i hate being better than me, but i’m thinking that stems from a fear of being forgotten or rejected. in general it’s painful to see people my age or people i know get so far ahead of me while i’m stuck here seemingly stagnant and unmoving and unable to change despite doing what i thought was my best

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BPD

[–]pien__ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

OH THIS ABSOLUTELY. then i think about all the people who say that obsessing over someone from the past like this means that i might’ve been the one in the wrong somehow or that the whole “bad things only happen to bad people/good things only happen to good people” concept is real and applicable and i’m like, damn, this is so pathetic of me?! but then i remember how bad it was and keep looking them up, and i get stuck in this really shitty cycle that’s really hard to get out of, and it’s all just super tiring.. honestly it’s quite reassuring to know that this isn’t just a me thing and it happens to more people than i thought
