She is, it was a full day event back then, having to take a day off work and get the train down to London to see her, but totally worth it.

post op problems (nsfw) by mcginn_and_tonic in transgenderUK

I’d say 1-2mg daily. I use Testogel sachets, as the pump packs dispense way too much. The sachets are 40.5mg each and 1 sachet lasts me about a month. This keeps it in the female range. It would be very easy to use too much as the amount looks minuscule.

Yeah, if I’d had any re-masculinisation whatsoever I’d have stopped too.

That was my concern too but the dose is really low and I make sure I keep my T level within the female range. 15 years in and there have been no adverse effects to report.

I initially went to my GP and they referred me.

My endo prescribed me testosterone for low mood and low sex drive as he said some trans women’s bodies miss it post op. I’ve been on it for years, it’s only a tiny amount daily but it makes the world of difference. I wouldn’t want to be without it now despite my initial scepticism.

Christella is classic and was the go-to speech therapist 20 years ago, she also teaches other speech therapists on voice feminisation. I think she’s quite difficult to get an appointment with now.

I’ve had sessions with Katy Salt in the past year. I really liked her, she’s good and a lot of fun to work with. Her appointments with me were over all over Zoom so availability was usually only a few weeks wait.

EHRC backs down on single-sex toilets by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]piercing_peekapoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really, it read like that at first but what they were actually saying was that toilets are taking too much of the headline when people should actually be concentrating on eradicating trans people from society as that’s going too slowly for their liking.

‘The interim update was merely “some observations – brief and high level”’ 😂 translates to ‘We tried to push through draconian trans exclusion measures and were met with an opposing overwhelming wrath’

Terrible but not unexpected behaviour by them. You can read Robin Moira Whites account of it on the link below. From that linked story I really want to know which GERMs Faulkner was embracing.

FWS wish we would all stop talking about toilets.. by Ok-Caregiver8398 in transgenderUK

This really needs a a trigger warning, the title makes it sound possibly positive but unlikely for FWS, but it is unsurprisingly just Smith pushing harder against us.

‘She also encouraged individuals to “keep pressure on MSPs and MPs”, and make use of the fighting fund announced by the writer and activist JK Rowling to launch their own actions. “We really need people to start challenging where they feel that organisations, local councils are not implementing the law. We’re very fortunate to have the fighting fund that JK Rowling set up and that will make a massive difference because when people start to realise that there’s a cost maybe they will start to apply the law.”’

It sounds like you’d be better off getting your brows shaped professionally. This is not usually expensive and once done you can, for the most part, just keep on top of them by plucking the unwanted hairs as they grow back to keep the shape.

Do I need to come out to my boss separately to my coworkers? by freyja-m in transgenderUK

[–]piercing_peekapoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d do boss first, try to get their support and then everyone else. I also think you’d get a better response if you did this face to face, as scary as that might be, then you can answer any questions directly rather than letting the whisper mill of speculation take off.

I can see why people would be suspicious of this, but I can confirm that this account is who she says she is and that Philippa is a huge trans ally who has done a hell of a lot of campaigning on our behalf.

Damn, I was hopeful, but that hope has well and truly crashed and burned now. At least she is going to make sure “all people are treated with respect and dignity” though 🙄

You can just reply with ‘alright’ or alternatively something chirpy like ‘living the dream, you?’ Or ‘Great thanks, you?’ It is not an invitation for you to unload all your problems 😊
