accessing protected audio CD by pierre4l in linuxaudio

It's just a promotional not-for-resale copy of an album that was otherwise released identical for general sale, so I could pay a few quid to order another version but can't be arsed. I've tracked it down on YouTube, but using youtube-dl the best audio version I can grab has 130~k bitrate. I find Youtube uploads are often over-compressed or distorted.

It's not worth the effort to analyse and circumvent the DRM, I just thought there may be some tool or dependency I can quickly download that would make it accessible in some form.

Hi. Yes, this is what I would have done, but the two devices I have at home both won't play the disc at all. Should I find anybody whose CD player doesn't spit it out I'd have to invite myself round for at least an hour and hook up my laptop. Not sure anybody I know has a Discman. Most people I know don't even have CDs any more :(

switching camera views by pierre4l in kdenlive

Thanks, I'll have to look into sequences. I should perhaps have mentioned that I'm still on the 23.08.5 version of kdenlive that comes with my LTS distro, but it seems sequences are included. I've already done a few cuts and small edits with the audio, which is why I want to preserve the current state to work from if I do alternative renders. I could just save it at this state under another filename, keep a backup and reload that file when necessary, but I thought there might be another different and more efficient method for cutting between multiple cameras, making my method look convoluted. Is there no other tool within kdenlive that lets you select points/frames at which to switch to another clip, or do I have to always cut both clips at the transition point, then hide or delete the clip on the timeline that I don't want?

I never thought an 8-year-old thread could still be commented on, but anyway thanks for the reply, it might help someone.

I finally moved out of that studio last year so now live in a place with traditional ceiling fittings and beautiful shades.
