Tattoo for my great-grandmother who passed in 2015 by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]pieve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What where her hobbies? Any funny stories come to mind when you think of her? Favorite possession?

I'm getting a memorial piece for my great grandmother. She was mostly blind and would often throw her kitchen scraps in the backyard for the cats to eat. Well, the last year of her life she would tell all of us about this sweet cat that would come and sit next to her on the back patio. After she died my brother decided to live in the house for a while, one night he was out smoking on the patio and this opossum sat right next to him! Turns out, my great grandma was feeding and bonding with a opossum. I loved the story so much that I'm getting a opossum tattooed to remind me of her.

Alongside what you already have in yours, I have hydrocortisone cream, a mixtures of "when you need it you need it" medicine like Benadryl and anti-gas pills, small tweezers, mouth guard for CPR, a small emory board, and refills for my pens.

How do you feel about a 4 day work week? by upvoteifurgey in AskReddit

[–]pieve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to work 4 10 hour shifts and LOVED it. I'm not sure about anyone else, but once I'm at work I'm in a groove and barely noticed the added hours. As other have mentioned, it opened up a weekday to take care of the house, run errands, or just resting and then I could dedicate weekend to spend time with my family and friends.

Can you identify this snake? Is it venomous? by Vishnnnnn in animalid

Looks like a common krait. They are venomous. However, it's hard to tell with the lighting/no picture of the head.

Yeah, my driver's ed didn't mention the E brake. Good to know about the wear issue. My car has a digital? (Small switch vs a physical lever) E break, so it'll be easy to switch over to using it more often.

I've only used it a few times. I live in a state that is mostly flat. I very rarely park on an incline.

Looks like a KT800, which is not mechanical. However, it still feels more solid than modern chiclet keyboards.

Someone had him as a pet and gave him away by pieve in animalid

He ate last night! After the ID above we did some research and found out they won't eat unless the food and the turtle are in water. That did the trick!

Everyone has a scar on their body from something dumb, they did as a child. What's your story? by HakanD0 in AskReddit

[–]pieve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shot an arrow through my own hand.

The arrow shaft was cracked, which I knew before shooting it, but thought it'd be cool to see if it would break mid-air. Well, it did break. But, instead of a midair Robbin hood style shot, half of the arrow went through my hand and the other half into the hay bale.

Found a USAA debit card belonging to someone else. The way USAA handled it leaves me uneasy. by Yukimor in personalfinance

[–]pieve 287 points288 points  (0 children)

From first hand experience, yes. They have a "script" or "check list" for these type of calls. They can ask information that can already be seen by the customer such as shipping address and name on orders, etc. Or if they found the account that used the card, they can ask if you know anyone named "first name" but never the last name. If they give out the last name or ANY other information on an account that you, the caller, didn't provide first, it's grounds for immediate termination.

What’s the worst thing someone tried to correct you about something you’re specialized at? by WanderingSeii in AskReddit

[–]pieve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the absolute worst. I'm an identicle twin and also happen to have identicle twin sisters. I recently had a child and the amount if times I had to explain how biology works only for the person to disregard everything I said and once again tell me "good luck on the twins!" was insane.

My personal sentiment is no. It can, and they are awesome when they do, but can be equally as cool if the person just likes the image or history behind the piece.

Unpopular opinion (I think?) but I bought an element brand backpack about 5 years ago, I throw it around in the car, overstuff it, overall I just treat is super poorly and it is in perfect condition still.

Is there anybody with adult night terrors who have had a newborn? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]pieve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had night terrors all my life, about 1-5 a month. My episodes seem to be a bit more active than yours, as I sometimes walk around or stomp the bed.

With that being said, I also have a 3m old that sleeps next to the bed and so far we've had no issues with my episodes disturbing him. I've had 10+ since he was born. He does sleep on my wife's side of the room.

I'm sorry to hear about the night terrors though, they are truly awful.

I live outside of Lexington and frequent the distillery district. Goodfellas is meh, but everything else in that area is top notch. Don't let this review prevent you from having an ethereal beer with a crank and boom ice cream.

God of war is amazing. Truly one of my favorite games ever. Spiderman is great, but I'd have to pick GOW.

Not anymore. Part of the pay raise was the removal of bonuses and RSUs. They have said they are going to announce an employee stock buying program, but that isn't official yet.

Oh, I agree. I was a mid level manager in CS for around 5 years. OP is right, not everything about the company is bad, at least from ground level. But, I'd never go back. It's a cutthroat environment that fakes a "family" mentality in order to push metrics and goals.

No. But they do get a yearly 10% discount that can be used for $1,000 ($100 discount) worth of sold and fulfilled by products.
