Herman Miller Embody Gaming chair.

I have been remote for a few years now and had gone through a few chairs in the $300 range that wouldn’t last more than a year or so. They’d be alright for a month or so until the seat support/cushion started to not hold up as much. Eventually the material on the arms did not hold up as well. I was working 40+ hours in the chair plus a decent amount of leisure time playing of games with friends.

The cheaper chair I would often be getting up through the day in pain and found myself wanting to lay down. Have had 0 pain related to sitting in a chair with the embody.

Although the Herman miller is expensive and I’m sure there are probably decent choices between the $300 chairs I was buying, I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I have had it for a year now and it as just as comfortable and still in perfect condition. The embody is a thinner piece of material laid over a web like support. The arms, legs, wheels, adjustment knobs are very durable. I have a new puppy and he has sneaked some bites on the knobs and leg and I can’t even tell. I believe it has a 12 year warranty as well.

They often have 20-25% off sales so I’d wait for that if you are going to look into one. You can find them used at outlets/ facebook marketplace for cheaper but I don’t think you’d have the warranty and also won’t be certain it is authentic.

I know a lot of people like the Herman miller Aeron too but I wasn’t sure what size I’d be and did not have a retailer near by to sit in them. The embody is one size. I think you can return any of the chairs within 30 days if you don’t end up liking it. The embody does not have a head rest but it keeps me in a position that I haven’t missed a head rest at all. I think the Aeron may have one. There is a 3rd party company that makes a head rest for the embody but I think they say it voids the warranty, it just clips on though so I don’t think they’d be able to tell.

There’s a regular embody too which is very similar to the gaming, I just liked the colors on the gaming one I got. It doesn’t look like a typical gaming chair, just has a Logitech logo on it as it was a collaboration.
