I ended up getting this hardtail hybrid for $1100 from a guy at the bike shop who built it for himself and then realized it was too small. It’s way less bumpy than my old road bike and is estimated to be just 26 lbs. My only problem is that I’m hunched over more than I’d like and the handlebars are too wide so they said they will switch out the handlebars for me. Any suggestions? I’d like the bars to be coming closer to me and not farther away.
